Baba Fareed RA didnt need jinns, his own spirit is so powerful that even today when no one knows who their great great grandfather was, the world knows that Baba Fareed RA exists (or existed - each to his own belief). Coming to jinns. There are much more powerful spiritual beings than jinns that exist so why take help from a weaker being like jinn ?
The most powerful of them is the human soul and other creatures come after that before jinns.

Just absurd that humans (so called ashraf al makhlookaat) would take help from a lesser powerful creature like jinn. Its like asking a primary school qualified person to run the position for which MBA qualified is needed.
