Maybe. I would agree international cooperating is unavoidable.Rather than starting afresh, India and Israel should join hands.
There are a variety of international partners to work with. For Euro states, it is increasingly had to solo develop top products. I suspect same for Israel. Japan is also working with Northrop.Got any U.S fifth generation air superiority aircraft available for sale?

Point was what is the necessity of a ISRAELI built 6th gen fighter?
Conclusion would still be that Israel most likely couldn't get is done alone, if only for financial reasons. The question relates to a situation/reasons that Israel must design and build a 6th gen fighter, regardless of internationl markets and joint ventures or partnerships with international partners.Even if it's not, the revenue generated by the acquisition of India alone, and prospect of international market makes a good financial proposition for Israel.
Israel really don't need 5th Gen Air superiority fighters as of now. No Air Force hostile to Israel currently match their Current Equipment and we have to admit Israeli AF do utilize their aircraft better than any other air force in world.Got any U.S fifth generation air superiority aircraft available for sale?
The same reasons why France would, i guess. Israel being technologically ahead and in a tough spot strategically could use a domestic fighter. With major clients around the world, and offering a J31/KFX level quasi 5th gen aircraft, it could eat into the 4.5th gen euro canards and f35 market significantly.Let me also add a question, namely "Why would Israel need to build a fighter jet?"
