can IRAN & PAKISTAN have a joint space program ?

Interesting perhaps the two countries can work together for their programs but the question is the Pakistani leadership powerful enough to start such a joint project despite US pressure... we haven't started the gas pipeline properly nor have we supported the Iranian nuclear program despite going through the same bias Iran is going through in 99 when we were doing our first nuke tests in response to India.

From the Pakistani side there are these problems:
1) Spineless government too afraid of what US will do if we are too close to Iran
2) Where the spaceports or rocket launch sites will be located. Each country will want them in their own territory so that they have more control.
3) Funding. Where will the funding come from. Are the Pakistani/Iranian governments trusting enough towards each other to embark on such a project and fund it? Economic conditions in the two nations are different.

By the way I have never really heard of any nation with a joint space program except Russia and Cuba.

I think that circumstances will force Pakistani leadership towards Iran. America's price simply is to use India as a proxy in our neighbourhood and try to bottle China up. Pakistan will not give up on China.

both the countries don't have an economy or technology to carry out joint space programs , and even the skilled work force , one is already involved in a war on terrorism and other is on a verge of a war with america , so it would be better if they involve a third party which could not only support them with financial backup and technical support but also keep the americans at bay , china or russia could be the best options .

that is not right. Europe has a joint space program under European Space Agency. Even US and Russia cooperate for International space station. When Russia, Europe and US rejected Chinese request to join the international space station, Chinese were furious but they have a plan to make their own station for the purpose. It is possible, China would want some partners for that project as well.

As for funding, yes that can be a problem but in joint space projects, very little money is flowing in the form of cash. The joint program does not mean giving money to others since it does not work like that. In such a program, each nation contributes to the project by building a specific module of the project and thus the costs are shared not in money form but by the work and technology of different partners. For example, the international space station has been built from different modules, each built by a different country eg. Russia, Japan, US, etc. You can check about it on the internet and see which country made which module. This is how it is going to work. Though it would not be bad if this program could also be joined by a rich Persian Gulf country which have not technology what so ever but would pay for other partners of the project to build the modules.

As for space ports, it is governed by the laws of physics and not politics. The best space port is the one built nearer to equator so that the maximum launch velocity can be achieved. That is if Oman joins the program, it would make since to build the space port in Oman and not in Turkey for example since that way, heavier loads can be launched by lighter rockets.
