No, it wasn't. If CCP had any brains they wouldn't have launched programs like Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution. A ship stuck in a river is no proof that Communist China ever had the backbone or the firepower to take Hong Kong by force from the British.

China fought against US led UN army (include British) in Korea in 1950s. People made mistakes, Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution were mistakes, this can not prove they had no brains. You logic is not sound at all. Do you consider Indian is inferior to Chinese because Chinese was poorer than India however Chinese economy is 5x India currently? Do you agree with this logic?

I know Indian are good at arguing. However, I value more on RESULT. Talk is cheap, show your result. British are NOT GOOD at fight, seriously speaking. Their victory largely built on superior technology. Their strategy, tactics, bravery are not impressive at all. Think about their failures in Afghanistan, in Singapore etc, they just sucks. they even have no gut to keep India as colony by fight. On the contrary, French at least fight with Vietnamese in Indochina, of course they were kicked out.

Ya, it was a big mistake for the British to depend on those cowardly useless Indians to protect Singapore. They turncoat the moment they saw the fortunes changed. Singapore's history would have been different if we had courageous Chinese soldiers instead of the cowardly backstabbing Indians. But Singapore had no choice as the British only had Indians as their obedient slaves and servants. That was until the cowardly backstabbing Indian servants saw that it would be better to serve the Japanese masters.
If you have doubts about Indian cowardly backstabbing nature, doubt no more. See how they threw away their arms and ran away during their 1962 war with the famine ravished Chinese. Those who didn't run away, surrendered en masse and enjoyed generous hospitality from the victorious Chinese.
The Chinese did not press their advantage but instead declared a unilateral ceasefire and cleaned and returned all arms and POWs to India. Hopefully the Chinese need not regret their generosity later as backstabbers do not know how to be grateful.

The British held out alone against the juggernaut that was Nazi Germany for a while before the Americans entered the war. They showcased their prowess as late as 1981 in the Falklands War where they had to fight on another continent.

Must say you are right on this. Luckily for the British, they had none of the turncoat cowardly backstabbing Indians(similar to those from Singapore) in the defense of their homeland.
