Cabinet Committee Approves Merger of National Housing Authority into Naya Pakistan Housing Authority

The Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms (CCIR) has approved the merger of the National Housing Authority into the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority under the Cabinet Division.

A summary has also been sent to the Federal Cabinet for final approval.

Federal Minister for Education, Professional Training, National Heritage and Culture, Shafqat Mahmood, presided over the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms (CCIR).

The meeting was attended by Defense Minister, Pervaiz Khattak, Law Minister, Barrister Farogh Naseem, SAPM on Petroleum, Nadeem Babar, Advisor to PM on Institutional Reforms, and Austerity, Dr. Ishrat Hussain.
To make the working of the government expeditious and unconstrained, the Committee also discussed and deliberated the amendments in clauses of the Rules of Business in the meeting.

The Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms (CCIR) remarked that the amendments in Rules of Business would aim to end the red-tapism and needless delays in the workings of the government.
The rules, which were creating ambiguity in the disposal of business of the government, are also being amended to bring in clarity, added the Chairman of the Committee, Shafqat Mahmood.

The Committee, after a discussion, proposed that the autonomous bodies and companies will intimate the Ministry of Law regarding the hired lawyer or the firm to represent in the courts, and the Ministry of Law will give its input within ten days to the former.

The meeting was adjourned till next Thursday.

I missed that case - what was the Supreme Court's justification to ban the government's use of this particular phrase/name, and what rules did it lay out for 'acceptable' names/phrases?

It is against the spirit of the constitution to add adjectives to the word "Pakistan" when referring to anything related to the Affairs of the State. Same goes as to why no one can call an existing ideological doctrine with an adjective. State of Pakistan will never accept a religious declaration under the name New Ahmadi or New Parsi either.

It is seen as a colonial legacy of divide and rule as politically understood from examples of Papua New Guinea or Neo Imperialism as witnessed in modern states emerging in Africa.

The term is derogatory insult to the history of the Nation.
