Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The BYD Song MAX DM and the BYD Tang EV will reportedly be available for presale at the upcoming Auto Guangzhou 2018, according to local media. The BYD Tang EV is expected to go on sale in December.
BYD Song MAX DM
The BYD Song MAX DM features several nuances in the design of intake grille and the trims of fog lights over the gasoline-powered version. Besides, the DM version is outfitted with multi-spoke rims with the charging port located at the right rear fender.
Inside, the Song MAX DM carries a large-sized rotatable screen in the area of the center console. The logo of a Chinese character “宋” in the middle of the steering wheel turns into blue. In addition, the new vehicle adopts the same electronic gear lever as the BYD Song DM.
The new DM version will be powered by 1.5L turbocharged engine and two electric motors at the front and rear axles, hooked up to a 6-speed dual clutch transmission. This power system can generate a combine output of 333kW with a combine torque of 740 N·m.
BYD Tang EV
The BYD Tang EV features the all-new matrix-type intake grille, which resembles the armor dressed on Terracotta Warriors. The L-shaped chrome trim on both sides of the front face is much bigger than that of the fuel-burning version.
The Tang EV features the same design as the DM version in terms of side profile. It is noteworthy that the EV will offer the Continental tires in the size of 265/40 R22 and six-piston calipers from Brembo. At the rear end, the integrated LED source is still used for taillights.
The neat interior design looks similar to the Tang DM. With the 2-3-2 seat layout, the Tang EV is still fitted with a rotatable screen on the center console and a full liquid crystal instrument panel. Moreover, the ball-shaped electronic gear lever is different from the DM version.
Powering the EV may be a ternary-lithium battery pack and two electric motors at the front and rear axles, which can provide the EV with a combine range up to 500km and make it sprint from 0-100km/h within less than 4.5 seconds.
