I agree if they had asked her to remove scarf/hijab then thats a totally different matter but burqa is a tribal culture and i don't know why she can't remove burqa?Unless of course there is some medical problem with her face i don't see any other logical reason for her not to remove burqa.She can still wear scarf.

This is illegal by our law, anyone advertising such will end up in jail. GoI even made google to withdraw any such advertise from google India page.

Ya it's still prevalent specially in north-west part of India, but we are not defending it rather trying to eradicate the barbaric practice.

Can't see the fuss. What does a lady in veil do when she displays her driving license , Passport or a similar document where her photograph needs to be verified ? Does she call for a lady clerk / policeman ?

To add to the points above, in court the opposing party could claim that he was denied justice simply coz the Judge /jury could not observe the lady in question while she was answering or being cross questioned.

I have read this news yesterday and i think nothing is wrong if the judge had asked for giving witness account without veil.

We should not be blowing it out of proportion by posting everything related to burqa. As in this case the judge is write and the judge also said that her/his order to remove veil for appearing as witness should not be taken as a precedent and verdict for other sectors as this according to the judge was exceptional case.

However, some illiterate and ignorant are always at risk of being exploited for vested gains and those should be sympathized rather than being treated as dogs by society, which in it self is hypocrisy when it is appreciated when a women walk full naked in street.
Society should be tolerant in both direction to each other but official proceedings and ceremonies have dress codes and shall be followed.

Rest there is no dispute, Burqa does NOT represent Islam but some sort of culture same as various dresses around the globe. Neither, it is worn by majority Muslim women, around the globe.

As an example a dress wore by men in SaudiArabia and immediate surroundings is not worn in every Arab state.
A cap worn in Peshawar is different from the one worn in Oman, Turkey or New York.

I am sorry---I am missing what you stated---. Nudity is a cultural thing---some tribes in africa and south america and in certain islands donot know the meaning of nudity---so they don't wear any clothes---what are we going to tell them.
