Had hindus been so protective of cows you wouldn't see them roaming around on streets, they would have been put in proper shelters. Anyway denial of a certain meat is no infringement of human rights. I believe no one would die if they weren't allowed their usual piece of steak.

This is a bullshit argument that cows are let out on the streets because no one cares about them. Monkeys and dogs and peacocks and various other animals are out on our streets too and we don't put them in shelter. No one says we don't care about them. Animals roamed the whole of Indian landmass at one point of time. Hindu thinking permits animals to share the space with humans and does not believe in segregation. In fact it is a crime to think only humans have right to all of earth and animals belong in just zoo or a park or a shed.

Another thing is the cows out on the streets in cities and towns belongs to families who always raised animals and now their pasture land has been engulfed by the growing city around them. That is the reason the cows are seen on the streets rather than pasture land. The very reason that cows are seen roaming around the streets unharmed should be telling you that people care. Had it been other countries, it would have decorated someone's meat platter.
