Lets weigh up money laundering-v-money theft and prioritise. My opinion is theft is worse than money laundering and should be dealt with first.

ISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew calls on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan at Banigala on Wednesday.—INP

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman and prime minister-in-waiting Imran Khan on Wednesday vowed to bring back the country’s laundered wealth stashed in the United Kingdom.

“It is our firm resolve to bring back to the country the money laundered to the UK,” Mr Khan said during his meeting with British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew at Banigala.

The British envoy called on the PTI chief at his residence to congratulate him on his party’s victory in the July 25 general elections.

According to the PTI media cell, Mr Khan said relations between Pakistan and the UK were quite important, adding that a large number of Pakistanis were residing in that country.

The British envoy expressed good wishes for the PTI’s government.

British envoy says Department for International Development is ready to help PTI govt put 22 million out-of-school children in institutions

Both sides exchanged views on strengthening better ties and cooperation in various sectors.

Mr Drew acknowledged Mr Khan’s address to the nation on July 26 and said it bore positive imprints and created a lot of interest in the UK. He was quoted as saying: “The British government is ready to support and work with Islamabad.”

He said the Department for International Development (DFID) would support the PTI-led government put more than 22 million out-of-school children in schools.

The PTI chief thanked the British high commissioner for the warm wishes and felicitations and also praised the role of DFID in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s development.

Meanwhile, independent candidates continued to join the PTI on Wednesday.

Party spokesman Fawad Chaudhry told Dawn that 25 out of total 27 independent candidates in the Punjab Assembly had joined the PTI so far and now the party had adequate number of seats to form its government in Punjab.

He said independent MNAs-elect Asim Nazir from Faisalabad and Sardar Khurram Leghari from Muzaffargarh had announced they would join the PTI.

Members of the Punjab Assembly Mohammad Aslam Bharwana, Taimur Khan and Taimur Lali met Imran Khan on Wednesday and joined his party.

I’ve been waiting for this news for a long time. Nawaz down, now Altaf, Zardari, Musharraf.

My dream is to see traitors like Hussain Haqqani dragged back to Pakistan.

IK knows very well how to deal with the British. If he knows another nation, it is the Britain.

If I was him, I would never impose the British Schooling system on Pakistan. NEVER!

My kids study in both primary and secondary schools here, and we know this schooling system inside out now. GCSE O'Level maths can be done by an 8th grader from Pakistan with ease. Maths and sciences here are very low level. And it is mass producing atheists.

Pakistan needs a revamp of the schooling system that suits our needs for future, and British schooling system is not it!

Try not to be partisan just because it isa called "Benezir". She is dead long time ago. You let it go when a person dies. My interest is only that poor are being helped despite what it is called.
Sorry, the real beneficiaries of income support program are not the ones who should be benefited.. This is true for Sindh specially.. where people have stopped filling the gap themselves as they know that the rest will be filled by the income support program..

Good governments don't make their people lazy.. they invest in different sectors to create enough jobs so that people work hard in those jobs and fill the income/ expenses gaps..

Besides that, I know people who get commission on distribution of income support program.. for example there are some people in Tando Adam who pay 500 rupees to some influential people from 3000 rupees they get as support.. for them 2500 is fine per person in their household.. People have become millionaire by just earning commissions on income support..

I hope IK works to free Aafia Sidiqqi too.
Forget her; she ruined her life by marrying a terrorist and getting involved in matters in which she should not be.

Bring Hussain Haqqani to task.

It's a question of justice. Criminal acts were inflicted on her and her children, her children were innocent of any wrong doing; those who participated in these crimes must be held to account and she must be freed.

It seems like almost all Western Pakistanis are on the same way of thinking regarding Western education systems.

Pakistan needs to develop its own indigenous system based on what kind of citizen it wants produced. We should not make our children puppets for Western machinations in the guise of education.

Picture speaks a thousand words ... Britisher with arms and hands open, IK with arms closed and hands tied.

No. They are imitating each other which shows they are on the same page as in making an effort to appease one another. The British commissioner is speaking so he has come out of his relaxed state to show he is interested in the debate. Also, when speaking, people tend to make gestures with their hands. Your body language deciphering skills need a touch up bro.

in a group of two, one speaks at a time and the other listens, when you speak your hand move to keep up with your words, when you listen you usually sit still and listen

Close enough.

Yes, his body language is of a person who is relaxed and has a lot of confidence. That's why he is comfortable in the national dress and only a glass of water is on offer..

Close enough.

Clenched hands resting on the knees is a sign of anxiety, you didn't read the link I posted under my response, here it is again:-

Not necessarily. Could be old age catching up from sitting too long? Maybe a little discreet ninja-yoga to stretch the shoulders? Or too much walking cause a joint in the knee to flare up? No worries add a little heat from the hands to relieve the tension. Lol

I couldn't agree more. Pakistan shouldn't borrow the entire Western education system which is tailored to their culture and requirements. Pakistan has its own identity and should adjust its curriculum to its own requirements. Having said that there is no harm in taking out the positives. There is no need to reinvent the entire wheel. Learn from other's experience and apply what you deem fit.

Depending on the industry being shifted to Pakistan, young population needs to be skilled accordingly.

Something like https://www.cityandguilds.com/ needs to be setup and programs added to meet the requirements of the industries.

A metric pass young can be taught solid skills to be productive and make decent and respectable earnings.
