What's new

brimstone or CBU105 vs nasr

should we use nasr as a stop gap until we find a conventional system to counter cold start.

paf lacks in advance ground attack missiles and bombs like brimstone, CBU105 or new maverick models (we do have 70s era B models).which is seriously hampering our ground attack ability to destroy multiple armored moving targets.hence we are resorting to nasar like solutions which endanger our own population with radiation of our own missile.
my point here is instead of treating nasar as final solution to cold start treat it as a stop gap solution and in mean time search for some Close air support missile like brimestone(6 of which can be carried by single jf 17) or guided cluster bomb like GBU105 (which can destroy 20 targets at once) to do the job of stopping multiple armored targets instead of a nuclear solution.

The type of power gap which is filled by Nasr can not be recovered by adding new anti tank weaponry in arsenal.
It require huge boast in conventional capability which in current situation is not feasible .............

Cold start is outdated and replaced 8 and 1/2 years ago. Strategies and counter strategies beyond cold start and Nasr has evolved and both sides have moved much ahead of these legacy things out in public

These 450 kg (1,000 pound), GPS guided bombs cost over $700,000 per unit. That's a lot of greenbacks!

India has already integrated them with the Jaguar. :-)

It's not so much a tape but a broken record being played out ad infinitum by so called Pak defence analysts who are living in their cosy cocoons in the previous decade! A lot of water has flowed under the bridge and strategic concepts have changed. But they keep up the charade so that more Nasrs can be produced and no questions asked either by the public or the politicians as to why such enormous resources are being spent in producing something that will never be used!

Yep! $700,000 a pop! :agree: But overall I agree. It's a far better option than using Nasrs that would result in an all out nuclear holocaust in the subcontinent that would affect not only South Asia but the entire Northern hemisphere too! :(

i know the gaps filled by nasr are huge but we are treating nasr as a permanent solution while it should be treated as a stop gap and alternate to fill those gaps should be pursued which after the advent of nasr has been completely halted . i am not saying that we should outright decommission nasr and go for brimstone or guided cluster bomb.take your time but considering nasr like nuclear response a permanent solution to a conventional attack is stupidity.
