Brigadier and guards killed in Islamabad firing

its time to wake up

There are three fronts in this war

Ground front forces are engageing enemy in FATA and elswhere

Political front except ppp, ANP and MQM we dont see other parties fighting. I think its treason not to fight this battle for existence

Ideological front Where are mullahs , ulema and Mashaikh we cannot defeat them unless Religous leaders come forward and perform their duties
if we defeat them ideologically we defeat them for ever

if he was the man behind the swat and sw operation, how come terrorist know that. i see some one passing info to terrorist. is it possible.

Some thing is definitely cooking up. There's a lot of mystery around some of these targeted killings.

Whose exactly behind?

inalilah waina ilayhi ra'jioon
May God bless their souls amen

An unknown number of gunmen attacked the brigadier’s military jeep as he left his house in the G-11/1 sector of the capital.

Another army official was injured in the attack, rescue officials told DawnNews television.

Brigadier Moin was visiting Pakistan and was expected to return to Sudan at the UN mission tomorrow.

The military vehicle was attacked at around 8.30am Thursday morning.

‘Witnesses have told us two men came on a motorcycle and opened fire,’ city police official Abdul Qadir told Reuters.

I think a massive police and intelligence sweep should be done in all major cities...this is a priority task and is as important as the Waziristan operation....
Every Police Station should be asked to update the profile of their area of responsibility and spot checking should be done by IB etc. to ensure that all Thanas are doing something...

Instead of allocating the Police to do the bidding of every tom, dick and harry...it is time that the Police becomes less answerable to the horde of ministers and is not posted on guard duty of all and sundry.

It is stupid to feel secure if there are 10 cars with a VIP, sadly this is what our politicians and governments deem necessary...it is an illusion...
If all these policemen are assigned to the city, they can ensure much more safety for all, including the VIPs.

The police is being used as personal guard in which role it is not that much capable anyway...

We need a massive intelligence sweep in which Police has to lead the way, severe crackdown can only be enacted with proper resources, most of our thanas are undermanned since the officials use the policemen as guards and escorts...this is not on.

I think the Minister for Interior should be changed and some real expert should be appointed in this testing time...one who has the vision to make positive changes with the given resources...

Inna lillahi Wa Inna Ilaehi Rajioun.

May Allah bless the martyr's soul and give patience to the family. Ameen.

Sepoy Sabir Ali has also passed on.

We have to understand that Taliban are now fighting for their existence, so they will play all their cards now.

Pakistani Brigadier Assassinated in the Capital

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Two assailants on a motorbike fired on a Pakistani Army jeep amid heavy rush-hour traffic Thursday morning, killing a brigadier and his driver, a security official said.

The assassination of the brigadier, Moeen Haider, was believed to be the first targeted attack on a senior military officer in Islamabad, the Pakistani capital, and also suggested a new tactic in the ongoing war between the government and Islamist militants. Until now, the military has been able to mostly move freely through the capital.

The assailants fired with automatic weapons at the jeep, which was not bulletproof, and then disappeared into the busy traffic, according to witnesses. The attack took place around 9:30 a.m. in the G-11 neighborhood of the capital.

The attack appeared to be a direct reprisal against the army’s current offensive against militants in the rugged tribal region of South Waziristan. Brigadier Haider, the deputy director-general of military operations, was involved in strategy and operational planning for the military campaigns in South Waziristan and Swat, the northern valley.

Another soldier also was injured in the attack, according to a military spokesman.

The army continued to make slow progress in the mountainous terrain of South Waziristan, battling Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters in the Mehsud heartland where the government says most of the recent terrorist attacks have been organized.

The killing of the brigadier and his driver is the latest in a string of seven attacks over the past 18 days in Pakistan against major government and security installations.

On Tuesday, Taliban militants killed six people when they struck a student cafeteria and an academic building at the International Islamic University in Islamabad.

Question... If our lowly ministers can get access to armoured limos, why cant high ranking military officers. Following the attack on Gen. Mushtaq, why was 111 brigade not providing any security assistance to these officers?

These scum bags are testing our nation's resolve.

may their souls live in peace..i think Army should remove STARs and other signs from their vehicles, because through this terrorists become confident about the presence of high ranked officers in them.

M-O is a branch which works day and night non stop monitering all the ongoing ops in Pakistan . The onfeild Army is virtually directed from M-O . One of the most outstanding officers are posted in the M-O Branch . This indeed is a high level target killing and shows how much the strength of these millitants . This would certinly have a demoralizing affect . PA should need to adopt countermeasures to prevent such costly loses .
May the Martyred RIP.

According to dawn news Brigadier Moen was the head of UN peace mission in SUDAN.

INNA LELLAHE WA INNA ELLAIHE RAJIOUN.

this is outrageous. this the worst that could happen. After Gen.Mushtaq, it was decided that there will be no stars and flags on high profile military officials. some Brave hearts decided that they would rather die than to live like cowards by removing the flags.

I think this is target killing and the militants knew exactly what they were doing.
