Ford carrying old infrastructure, debts and liabilities ...Tesla is free from all financial problems.

Check their balance sheets
Tesla is famous for their bad balance sheets. It usually earns money through speculation, such as crypto currencies.

Reality is the only way tesla will earn money is if it is able to sell self driving subscription

Thats the whole thesis behind tesla

What if google does that before tesla..well then you tesla is screwed

When in it comes to EV nio in china and european players in europe and korea/toyota will lead rest of the world

Still its very low margin area

I didn't find the news that Tesla recalled Model S&Model 3 from India.
Isn't Tesla going to recall products sold in the Indian market? Maybe Tesla thinks Indian lives are worthless.

Certain Nio models are priced higher than the most expensive Tesla, and with higher profit margin. In China, Tesla had to reduce price to be able to compete. In other markets, they may be expensive. Afterall, it is domestically made in China and over 75% domestically sourced.
The only Nio car that is more expensive than all Tesla's is a electric supercar made for racing. It is a completely different type of car with very limited audience. The Tesla Roadstar would soon bring unimaginable performance for a relatively small price.

Tesla in China is similarly priced to Tesla's in the US. Chinese Tesla's aren't only intended for China, they're intended for export as well. For example all Israeli Teslas were made in China Giga factory.

This may be true but I doubt it.
Take the Apple as an example. The iPhone 4 was way more advanced than any other phone, but it was matched soon after and even surpassed by other phone manufacturers.

It didn't retain its technological edge, but it did retain its brand loyalists.

There's also the Apple ecosystem which everyone liked, Elon Musk seems to want to replicate that with his own phones, own satellites, own internet etc and integrate between them all. This is something hard to compete against.
The safety criteria is given regrdless of the technology and its still over priced and its not perfect. I have friends who drive tesla and provide 1st hand feedback. I will pass on Tesla until the price is where it should be.
What do you mean? Safety criteria is 100% a result of a technological research.

Everyone I know that owns a Tesla fell in love with it

My better half drives a Tesla, only reason we got it was to utilize the carpool sticker as she commutes to work and also we can save on gas money. Plus, there aren't many choices in the US market.

Having said that, we paid over $52K for the most basic model 3 with a 250 mile range. The interior is on par with a golf cart, there is nothing plush or luxury about it even though you are paying luxury car prices. The drive and handling, especially at high speeds is very unstable and if you drive faster than 70 miles an hour, the battery drains at the twice the projected range, so we are suffering range anxiety half the time. Has no noise and heat insulation, the fit and feel is on par with low end cars manufactured in Eastern Europe.

It is most certainly over priced since there isn't much competition in the US market.

This is slightly old, but gives you an idea:

A Chinese court ruled Tesla to refund the purchase price of the Model S plus three times the compensation – a total of 1.5 million yuan. In mainland China, this is the first time court sentenced Tesla has to 3 times payment to consumers. The reason is that Tesla has sold substandard used cars to consumers.

After 755 days, Han Chao finally waited for the verdict in his favor.

According to the civil judgment issued by the Beijing No. 2 Intermediate People’s Court on September 16, the court rejected the appeal of the defendant Tesla Automobile Sales and Service (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and the original judgment was upheld.

According to Chinese law, after Tesla loses the lawsuit, it needs to return 379,700 yuan to Han Chao to purchase the car. According to the “Consumer Rights Protection Law,” the compensation is 1,139,100 yuan, for a total refund of 1,518,800 yuan. According to the latest exchange rate, Tesla will have to pay about 235,000 UD to Han Chao.

This time it is the final trial, and Tesla can no longer appeal.

Let’s review what happened: at the end of May 2019, Han Chao bought an officially certified second-hand car on Tesla’s official website, model S sedan.

Before the purchase, the sales staff informed him that the car had not had a significant accident, and there were no problems such as blisters, fire, and structural damage.

However, on August 24, 2019, Han Chao discovered a problem with this car.

“During normal driving, there was a sudden loud bang, and it was paralyzed for an instant. Five fault codes popped out on the screen, prompting ‘the vehicle cannot restart,’ ‘the vehicle is closing,’ etc. The brakes of the vehicle and the electric door were completely paralyzed,” Han Chao claimed.

After Tesla inspected the car, the company said that the big bumper, umbrella valve, and other parts of the vehicle were damaged and needed to be replaced, and told him, “The old car is like this, no need to make a fuss.” At that time, the Tesla service center provided Han Chao with a mobility scooter.

Han Chao was not satisfied with Tesla’s handling method. He asked whether to return the goods or replace a car. Tesla rejected Han Chao’s request.

Later, Han Chao commissioned the Tianjin Motor Vehicle Judicial Appraisal Agency to conduct a full-vehicle inspection of the vehicle and then unexpectedly discovered cutting and welding marks on the rear side panel of the car, which was suspected of being an accidental vehicle.

Therefore, Han Chao took Tesla to court and demanded that Tesla return the money he bought the car and pay him three times.

The Chinese court supported Han Chao’s request because the court organized a third-party agency to appraise the vehicle. The appraisal results showed that the vehicle purchased by Han Chao had cutting and welding, which impacted safety and depreciation. The appraisal opinion is “The small car with license plate number 津AD16231 (Tesla) 5YJSA6H1 is an accident car”.The court accepted this appraisal result.

The court held that Tesla guarantees that “there is no structural damage” to the vehicle, and there is no objective standard basis for structural damage.

However, Tesla did not follow the principle of good faith to inform consumers of the vehicle’s condition, especially the past accidents and maintenance.

Looks like my prediction that Tesla will eventually lose the Chinese market is coming true.

That's given. It will become a normal, regular, mid-size player. Its giga factory will serve more to global markets, helping China's EV parts manufacturers.

Not even close Beidou. Tesla just sold 70K in China in December alone. And set a massive Q4 record in deliveries. Tesla, a $1T company just grew 87% in 2021. That’s absurd growth, and their expanding Shanghai further and set to open 2 new fact

Your completely blind to Teslas dominance:

.
In China, Tesla had to reduce price to be able to compete.

Right now it is the complete opposite. Demand is so crazily high in China due to the poor reception of Chinese consumers to the local EV brands that the backlog of new Tesla orders is completely out of control.

"Tesla’s increasing popularity in China and Asia has resulted in a widening gap between its capacity and demand for its vehicles,” said Eric Han, a senior manager with Shanghai-based business advisory Suolei. “The higher prices are aimed at curbing consumer demand and easing production woes.”

Rumor is they sold a whopping 70,000 cars in December.

Remember the only way the typical LIDAR based system is going to work is if a country allows ALL their roads to be pre-mapped to the millimeter (it matches the cached pre-map (that includes buildings not just road edges) to the dynamic map generated by the car to know where it is on the road and exactly where the wheels should be going)...far more intrusive than Google Streetview.

Do you think China will allow foreign companies to map all their streets/buildings to the millimeter? They don't even allow Google Streetview.

Even some Western countries restrict Google Streetview. There's no way they will allow an even more intrusive LIDAR based system to pre-map their roads/buildings.

Tesla's vision requires no pre-mapping. All it needs is crude "Garmin" quality roadmaps. It should work anywhere in the world that has this.
