Breaking : Supreme Court dismisses petition against Aasia Bibi's acquittal

The Supreme Court on Tuesday — amid tight security in the capital — dismissed a petition seeking review of the top court's October 31, 2018 verdict of acquitting Aasia Bibi, a Christian woman who spent eight years on death row in a blasphemy case.

The petitioner was not able to point out any mistake in the SC verdict acquitting Aasia Bibi, said the CJP.

Discrepancies in each witness statement & a fact that out of many only 2~3 woman came forward as witness is the reason for dismissal.

Qardi Abdus Salam, a cleric, had filed a petition against Supreme Court orders through his lawyer.

During the hearing, the chief justice told the applicant's lawyer that he could point out a single mistake in the Supreme Court judgement.

The Supreme Court´s decision in October last year to overturn her conviction ignited days of violent demonstrations.

Discrepancies in each witness statement & a fact that out of many only 2~3 woman came forward as witness is the reason for dismissal.

As long as she is able to exercise her rights as a free citizen of Pakistan fully exonerated by the highest court in the land, this is a good thing.

Enough has not been done in this case---.

The two previous judges who heard the case and convicted her should be terminated for not following legal guidelines---.

The people who accused her and instigated must be and should be charged with setting up an individual and falsely accusing her of blasphemy should be charged with the act of blasphemy---.

Policeman Qadri should be declared a terrorist---Khadim Hussein Rizvi should be declared a terrorist---.
