Breaking: Case registered against CEO ARY NEWS under Anti-Terrorism Act

time to control all media channels! including GEO! too much azaadi to media is not a good thing! I guess after sikander incident everyone knows.

so yes good there should be media law & ALL MEDIA CHANNELS SHOULD ABIDE BY IT!

I'm surprised to see a few member's reply here at this thread, especially @nuclearpak. I admit that our media as a whole is corrupt and should be handled properly. But if any media channel in Pakistan needs to be man handled, then its GEO for sure. ARY News is way more mature and patriotic as compared to Geo TV. Almost 90% of anti Pakistan or anti Army/ISI propaganda is done only at GEO.

I guess you guys have missed the story behind this case on ARY. BLA attacked Jinnah Residency in Ziarat and Geo + Jang Group pinched entire blame at ISI. PML-N kept their silence on the issue because they are allies of BLA in Baluchistan Govt and are always been their sympathizers, whether its BLA or Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

But then BLA published video of Jinnah Residency attack claiming responsibility of the attack. As expected, PML-N didn't utter a word about BLA and SC didn't take any notice about the incident. It was ONLY ARY News who aired that attack video from BLA, exposing BLA, PML-N and SC. As a result they got furious on ARY, PEMRA issued show cause notice to ARY News, threatening them about cancellation of their license. Then SC took Sou Motto of ARY News airing the video. And then Baloch Govt filed an FIR against Owner and CEO, that too under bloody Anti-Terrorist Act, which are serious charges with severe punishments.

Now think rationally for once, all they did was airing BLA attack video. You can say that the video may not be appropriate to be shown at TV channel, but that video is already all over the world via internet so what's the problem airing it? And then see the chain of reactions against ARY News as a result. How on earth they can charge ARY News under Anti Terrorist Act for merely airing a video??

Cheap Justis didn't take Sou Motto against BLA attacking Jinnah Residency, but took notice of ARY News airing video on their channel..

Hello, You did not understand my post, yes Turkey is my role model. My friend Slav Defence is saying that images should not be shown or people will go chaotic and frustrated but my personal thoughts are people are already frustrated but not chaotic that is the trait of Pakistan and that there is no revolution in making not any time soon, my idea is to show people what taliban/terrorists have done so that people hate them even more I believe people won't go AMOK over it. It has been 13 Years after nu giyarah, people of Pakistan are calm while every goverment fks them good yet Pakistani awam smiles back.

But airing a terrorist video of destroying a public monument is definitely helping propaganda of BLA.

Instead ARY could have just said that a new video has emerged which shows BLA attacking the residency and show some stills.

I agree that ARY is the most sensible channel of the lot, after DAWN.

Sir I'm not in favor of what ARY did, they could have just blurred out a few contents, or can simply cut where Pak Flag was disrespected, where they were ruining Jinnah's pictures etc. If they wanted to report the incident, then they can do that simply without harming national pride. But whatever was done to ARY after that was total nonsense. And look how the case has been withdrawn just after a day. They are making a joke out of themselves.
