China submarine safety is quite good. The only other accident was over 20 years back.

Yeah they can hide it, & for a long long time. Probably will never get a confirmation. They hid Covid mortality data, which probably had data of hundreds of thousands deaths... 100 people and 1 nuclear sub is nothing.
