A Brazilian gang leader attempted to break out of prison after dressing up as his daughter who was visiting him.
However, officials said Clauvino da Silva, also known as “Shorty,” acted very suspiciously as he tried to make his escape and gave himself away.
His plan, officials said, was to leave his 19-year-old daughter behind in his cell, but her role as an accomplice is being looked into.
In photos released by Rio’s State Secretary of Prison Administration, da Silva wears a silicon face mask, a long dark-haired wig, jeans and a pink shirt with cartoon image of donuts.
Authorities said da Silva is a higher-up in the Red Command, a drug trafficking gang that operates in Rio de Janeiro.
After his escape was foiled, he was transferred to the prison’s maximum security wing.
