Australia, Italy and Finland have joined global leader board for the first time, according to RCG’s annual survey.

Brazil has been named the world’s top-ranked country for wind power, in the newly released annual market report from Renewables Consulting Group - an ERM Group company.

The report includes a league table for wind power based on the capacity that was operational, secured and/or in development in the last year.

For 2021, Brazil recorded a total of 97GW. The UK, with 84GW, ranked second, Vietnam came third (67GW), China fourth (63GW) and Taiwan fifth (52GW).

Australia (27GW), Italy (15GW) and Finland (4GW) joined the world league table for the first time.

More than 200GW of new offshore wind projects were announced in established markets such as the UK and the Netherlands, and in new markets such as Italy and Australia. Global offshore wind capacity doubled through the year, according to the report.

China installed a record breaking 8GW in 2021 and surpassed the UK to become the largest operational offshore wind market.
In the UK, Scotland allocated almost 25GW of capacity in the Scotwind process, its first offshore leasing round in a decade. The first contract for differences (CFD) round for offshore wind projects took place in Poland, with 5.9GW of capacity securing a route to market.

The US Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) announced it would hold up to seven new offshore wind lease sales by 2025.

Are you kidding ? China is by far the largest no-brainer, with wind capacity of at least 342 GW, not 63 GW, followed by US with 139 GW. Which source do you get that ?

Check your data.

In the field of wind power generation, China ranks first and the United States ranks second.

Not sure about the ranking, but it seems Vietnam's wind power increases nearly 7x or 10x fold in 2021.
In 2021, the wind energy capacity in Vietnam amounted to approximately 4118 megawatts, indicating an increase compared to the previous year. In that year, the total capacity of wind energy in Asia reached over 385 thousand megawatts.

Off shore wind is the cleanest and cheapest source of energy, sad that India has been neglecting this so far.

In 2021, China accounted for approximately 42 percent of the world's newly installed onshore wind power capacity, followed by the United States at 18 percent. Globally, onshore wind turbines with a cumulative capacity of 72.5 GW were newly installed in 2021.

Global installed offshore wind capacity reached 48.2GW by the end of 2021 compared to 32.5GW by the end of 2020, annual growth of 48.2%.

The report found that 53 new offshore wind farms went into operation in 2021 worldwide of which 45 were installed in China, 3 in the UK, 2 in the Netherlands, 1 in Denmark, 1 in Taiwan, and 1 in Norway.

China is now the world’s largest offshore wind market by far with 19.7GW of installed capacity, almost as much as the UK (12.3GW) and Germany (7.7GW) combined.

Overall, 40% of the world’s total offshore wind capacity is now installed in China.

My friend, I have been tracking RE energy for a decade. Vietnam is no where in the radar nor can you manufacture those gear.

Great news for Vietnam!
I think it is clearly an error. Total installed capacity of all kinds in Vietnam is only about 75 GW, of which green energy (solar, wind) is about 20 GW at most.

His dish washing has side effects.

China #1
Where is vietnam?
Like I said earlier, dish washing in Germany has side effects. 😂
