Death suspended CoronaVac research
The death that caused the suspension of research on the CoronaVac vaccine was the suicide of a 32-year-old volunteer, as indicated in the police report. The IML (Legal Medical Institute) report has not yet been concluded.

The case was used by Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) to interrupt vaccine research that was led by the Butantan Institute, in partnership with the Chinese laboratory Sinovac. Anvisa claims that the decision was technical.

The decision caused surprise and irritation in health officials in the state of São Paulo, who classified the federal government’s decision as unfair. Discontent exists because those responsible for the research do not see suicide as an adverse effect related to the vaccine. They also say it is not the first death of CoronaVac volunteers.

At the beginning of the study, one person died in Porto Alegre – but the information was not widely disseminated. An investigation was opened and it was found that the volunteer had taken a placebo, a substance that does not have the active ingredient.

Its a sad day for the dotards, Chinese technology is light years ahead of the dotards's tech, so they have to resorted to smear and fake news whilst building crap hype about their own failed vaccines.

SAO PAULO (Reuters) - The severe adverse event which caused the Brazilian health regulator to suspend trials of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by China’s Sinovac was a suicide, broadcaster TV Cultura reported on Tuesday.

TV Cultura said it had seen the coroner’s report for the person in question, which had shown the trial volunteer had taken their own life.

Brazil hates China, but they need Chinese technology. Sinovac has fallen into their trap. Many documents and prototypes related to vaccine technology fell into the hands of Brazilians. They can either rebuild Sinovac's vaccine or rely on sinovac's technology to develop their own vaccine.

SAO PAULO/BEIJING (REUTERS) – Brazil’s health regulator suspended a clinical trial of China’s Sinovac coronavirus vaccine citing a severe adverse event, delighting President Jair Bolsonaro, who has repeatedly criticised the vaccine’s credibility and said it would not be purchased by his country.
Brazil’s health regulator, Anvisa, suspended the trials late on Monday saying the event occurred on Oct 29.
A source familiar with the matter told Reuters the incident that led to the suspension was a suicide. The state government of Sao Paulo, where the trial is being run, later confirmed that a death of a volunteer had been registered as a suicide and was being investigated further.
Later on Tuesday, Anvisa said it would maintain the suspension and did not give any indication of how long it might last, adding it required more information on the incident. It dismissed any indication the move was politically motivated, saying the decision was purely technical.
The trial’s organisers criticised Anvisa’s decision, saying they had not been notified in advance and that there was no reason to stop the trial.
Although a trial volunteer had died, it had nothing to do with the vaccine, Jean Gorinchteyn, Health Secretary for the state of Sao Paulo told a news conference on Tuesday.

“We had an external event that led to the regulator being notified,” Gorinchteyn said. “This vaccine is safe.”
Dimas Covas, the head of Sao Paulo’s medical research institute Butantan, which is conducting the Sinovac trial, said the vaccine had shown no serious adverse effects.
Speaking at the same news conference, he said he hoped the trial would be resumed this Tuesday or Wednesday.
Anvisa said the initial information they had received from Butantan had not specified that the death was a suicide.

“We had no choice but to suspend the trials given the event,” the head of the agency Antônio Barra Torres said.
Brazil’s suspension of the trial, one of Sinovac’s three large late-stage studies, and the resulting fallout underlines the increasingly fraught political atmosphere surrounding the development and distribution of potential vaccines.

Pfizer says Covid-19 vaccine 90% effective in phase 3 trial

The setback to Sinovac’s efforts contrasts with welcome news from Pfizer, which said on Monday that its experimental Covid-19 vaccine is more than 90 per cent effective based on initial trial results.
Bolsonaro, a longtime China sceptic, has dismissed the Sinovac vaccine as lacking in credibility. On Tuesday morning, he said on his Facebook page that the suspension was “another victory for Jair Bolsonaro.”
Hu Xijin, editor-in-chief of The Global Times, published by the People’s Daily, the official newspaper of China’s Communist Party, said on social media platform Weibo: “I am very worried that politics and the excessive pursuit of economic interests are deeply involved in the information release on vaccines.”
A World Health Organisation spokeswoman sought to play down the politics.
“I don’t think you need to try to find reasons or explanations other than the fact that people who are looking for a vaccine ... are very cautious,” Fadela Chaib said.
Political battleline
Sinovac said in a statement on its website on Tuesday it was confident in the safety of its vaccine and will continue to communicate with Brazil on the matter. It has previously said it expects interim results of late-stage trials this year.
It is not uncommon for clinical trials to be suspended temporarily after a subject dies or becomes ill so that independent monitors and trial organizers can check whether it is related to the drug being tested.
Sinovac’s vaccine is among the three experimental Covid-19 vaccines China has been using to inoculate hundreds of thousands of people under an emergency use program. A Chinese health official said on Oct 20 that no serious side effects had been observed in clinical trials.
Bolsonaro has previously said the federal government will not buy the vaccine, although he had appeared to soften his position before his celebratory social media post on Tuesday.
His stance has set a clear political battleline with the governor of Sao Paulo, Joao Doria, who has said his state will both import the vaccine and produce it. Work has even begun on a plant capable of producing 100 million doses a year.
Doria, who is widely expected to challenge Bolsonaro at the next presidential election in 2022, has said a public inoculation program in Sao Paulo with the Sinovac vaccine would likely be rolled out as early as January.
Sinovac is also hoping to supply its experimental coronavirus vaccine to more South American countries by outsourcing some manufacturing procedures to Butantan.
Late stage trials are also being conducted in Indonesia and Turkey. Indonesia’s state-owned Bio Farma said on Tuesday that its Sinovac vaccine trials were “going smoothly.” Four Covid-19 vaccines are being tested in Brazil, including those developed by Oxford University with AstraZeneca and the candidate developed by Johnson & Johnson .
Pfizer’s vaccine, developed in partnership with Germany’s BioNTech, is undergoing late-stage tests involving 3,100 volunteers in Sao Paulo and Bahia states.
Worldwide, there are at least 10 experimental coronavirus vaccines in late-stage clinical trials, according to the World Health Organisation. Four of them are from China.

@rent4country , now open your eyes. It's suicide. Has nothing to do with China vaccine.

damage repair propaganda drive.

He remind me with Trump.

We choose a leader because he is a fine example, he can protect and lead us into happiness.

But this leader is a fool, liar, deceiver, selfish, and smooth-talker.

He deceived and betrayed Brazilian people, and lead the people to their own doom.

A major disease and human lives are not toys to be played with, nor to gain profit from it.

But whatever, this is already the time.

So, what can I say, I'm the wrong one in this era.

Brazilians are OK with China, its this right wing White President who hates China.

How all the Indian trolls rushed to condemn and bash China before Brazilians even announced what the incident really was and what caused it.

Yet not one word from them about the fact that it turns out exactly the thing they falsely accused Chinese vaccines to have caused and China to be responsible for, happend to Western supplied vaccines almost hundred times just in recent months.

Anvisa suspended Brazil's trial of the vaccine two days ago, citing a "severe adverse incident" - reported to be the death of a volunteer.

The head of the institute conducting the trial said the death had no connection to the vaccine.

In a statement on Wednesday, Anvisa said it now had "sufficient information to allow vaccination to resume".

"It is important to clarify that a suspension does not necessarily mean that the product under investigation does not offer quality, safety or efficacy," it said.

President Jair Bolsonaro earlier declared the suspension a "victory".

He has long criticised the vaccine because of its Chinese links and said it would not be purchased by his country. He has also engaged in a political fight with the governor of São Paulo, João Doria, who has publicly backed the trial.

Mr Bolsonaro has not yet commented on Anvisa's announcement that the trial can resume.

The vaccine, developed by Chinese firm Sinovac Biotech, is one of several in final-stage testing globally. Sinovac says it is "confident in the safety of the vaccine".

Brazil has been one of the countries worst affected by coronavirus, recording more than 5.6m confirmed cases - the third highest tally in the world after the US and India - and nearly 163,000 deaths, according to data collated by Johns Hopkins University.

So basically an unrelated suicide used as a political plot for the dotard Brazil president against his opponent, and the dotards here get a orgasm last for about 12 hours

They are gonna pay through their noses paying multiples times our price for a drug 90% effective. Lol

Damage done, pfizers shares rose and the CEO sold it. Sheeple around the world didn't even know we have a 100% efficacy vaccine tested around the world and with 200k injected that does not require - 80 storage. Why? Because BBC CNN REUTERS didn't report it.
