These Korean locomotives are supposed to be to be freight locomotives. So - they aren't supposed to win beauty contests.

That said, the Indonesian INKA locomotives are better looking (looks like a double header meaning with one cab at each end). What engines and transmission do these use?

Engine is Caterpillar, transmission I dont know. This locomotive is anti flood until 1 meter.

The sole purpose of this line over the Padma is not to connect with Gopalganj. It will go to Khulna and then probably to Benapole border. It will be good for communications between Dhaka and Kolkata.

Nope. Cost is 97000 crores taka till chattogram, ie 11.4 b usd for around 250 km. Cox bazar extension is separate.
