SHERDIL TAKES BUMPER START IN RWP/ISL
We previously updated you on SherDil’s performance in Centaurus Cinemas in Islamabad and Universal Cinemas in Lahore. SherDil has taken bumper start in the twin cities of Pakistan. Film opened to packed houses in Centaurus Islamabad and its coming shows are already close to being packed too.

The film is now doing extremely well in Cinepax too with Cinepax WTC opening with well over 50% occupancy and this occupancy is further going to go up in the evening and night shows.

Cinepax Jinnah park has opened strong too and it looks like Rawalpindi/Islamabad will wrap up the first day with very healthy numbers. Right now the biggest day one of 2019 in Rwp/Isl is with Gully Boy at over 12lacs approx and SherDil will be chasing that number.

Last year Parwaaz Hai Junoon outperformed in Rwp/Isl and now SherDil has taken a strong start in these cities. Their similar performance in these cities indicates that the topic of Pakistan Air Force is also playing a contribution in these areas.

most of the latest songs , dramas and movies regarding the armed forces are simply below average. PAF songs of 80s and 90s are still better then today's . not a single paf drama or movie came up to the expectation of the public. starting from shahpar to todays sherdil all are just ok. i think majority of the public has seen topgun and they want similar action which seem very much real. its a shame really that what the hollywood did in 86 we still cant do same.

in my opinion if someone tries to make a movie about PAF it may have greater chance of success if it is more closer to reality. the glamor factor needs to be reduced and those bollywood style songs by some prostitu%es simply kill the thrill.
just look at the pic of the hero . it looks like a sqn ldr standing in front of cadets. at least give him a proper hair cut and cast a younger hero.

There are glaring technical mistakes in the movie

1). A Mach 1.8 JF-17 playing chicken with a Mach 4 AAM.
2). JF-17 and Mirage 2000 having a drag race in the middle of a dog fight and JF-17 actually winning.
3). Pilots locating bogies visually witout use of RADAR and otherwise being oblivious of other aircraft in the vicinity.
4). Dogfights actually happening with guns during this day and age.

Box Office Update: New Releases Breathe Some Life Back into Local Cinemas

“Laal Kabootar” and “Sher Dil” have successfully brought back audiences to local cinemas which had become deserted due to the ban on Bollywood films and the absence of “Captain Marvel”.

“Sher Dil”, the patriotism fueled flick about a Pakistan Air Force cadet took the lion’s share of the revenue, grossing 1.15 Cr on Friday. The film became the first Pakistani feature to cross the 1 Cr barrier on its first day in 2019. It is expected to do well through the weekend and maintain its current level of cinema occupancy.

“Laal Kabootar”, the dark horse that rode in on critical reviews from all over brought in 30 lacs on Friday. The film wasn’t marketed as well as Sher Dil, which has mass appeal due to its subject matter, and is targeted towards a niche audience. Laal Kabootar is expected to pick up during the weekend and maintain a steady revenue stream through the following week.

Pakistani cinema has had a dull opening to 2019 with “Gumm” and the re-release of “Jackpot” failing to rake in much money. However, with the release of “Laal Kabootar” and “Sher Dil” this week, and “Project Ghazi” the following week, people are expected to flock to the cinemas.

SHERDIL DAY TWO EARLY ESTIMATES : MASSIVE NUMBER
SherDil has benefited big time from Pakistan Day today. Film has seen massive picks at most places. Film’s opening day itself was good but trends for second day are marvelous.

Film’s numbers have almost doubled in at most plexes and few are even seeing three times pick compared to first day. It’s a bit early to predict final number for day two but SherDil will definitely have a big number on day two.

Film should hit 30lacs mark in Rwp/Isl today whereas Karachi is also seeing massive pick especially in Nueplex. Universal Cinemas in Lahore are super strong today.

As per very earlh trends, film should go beyond 1.5cr mark on day two. We might even see number going well beyond 1.5cr when final numbers come in the morning.

Karachi Goes Huge On Saturday For SherDil and Laal Kabootar

KARACHI GOES HUGE ON SATURDAY FOR SHERDIL AND LAAL KABOOTAR


Pakistan Day has turned out to be a mega event at Boxoffice for films on Saturday. SherDil has seen massive numbers whereas Laal Kabootar say phenomenal pick.

SherDil had collected around 20.5lacs approx on Friday from city of lights. But on Saturday that number has gone up at 47.5+lacs. This is a pick of more than 130% compared to Friday.

Laal Kabootar on other hand has seen a pick of over 175% on day two in Karachi. Film had collected 3.5lacs approx on day one and second day has concluded with 9.5lacs approx.

Both the films have added 57lacs approx combined on Saturday which is up from 24lacs on Friday. We will be updating all Pakistan numbers later today.
