We cannot vouch for the authenticity of these box office numbers given by independent box office tracking site Box Office Detail. However, until we have some official box-office tracking system in Pakistan this is all we have got. The numbers are also revised at times and hence you may observe fluctuations.

Eid holidays are over and both films, ‘Yalghaar’ and ‘Mehrunisa V Lub U’, are holding their positions with nominal dips. Usually a significant drop is expected after holidays, but the films are performing well, which bodes well for Eid releases. Despite Thursday being workday, both films held well and continued to run steadily.

Mehrunisa V Lub U
‘Mehrunisa V Lub U’ collected 4.25 crore on Eid holidays and added 1.0 crore on Day 4, taking its 4 day collections to 5.25 crore. It is impressive!

Here is the breakdown of four-day collections of ‘Mehrunisa V Lub U’.

  • Day 1 (Monday): 1.10 crore
  • Day 2 (Tuesday): 1.75 crore
  • Day 3 (Wednesday): 1.40 crore
  • Day 4 (Thursday): 1.00 crore
  • Total: 5.25 crore approx.
Yalghaar
‘Yalghaar’ raked in 6.35 crore on Eid holidays and added 1.4 crore on Day 4, taking its 4 day collections to 7.75 crore. It dropped to up to 30% on fourth day, but still it leads the other film by significant margin.

Here is the breakdown of three-day collections of ‘Yalghaar’.

  • Day 1 (Monday): 1.75 crore
  • Day 2 (Tuesday): 2.40 crore
  • Day 3 (Wednesday): 2.20 crore
  • Day 4 (Thursday): 1.40 crore
  • Total: 7.75 crore approx.

You are cheering for the film like some one cheer for his team in a cricket match....

My Review on Yalghaar:

The movie starts by consigning itself to the Armed Forces but the pace is too quick to read thoroughly as it swiftly passes. It should have taken appropriate timing and fade gently, leaving an impact. Four to five detailed sentences with about 10 seconds visual isn't enough timing to read.

The Film is based on 'Zarb-e-Azb' operation, the location (some) was real, so were some troops used (very rare scenes).

Sana Bucha's dubbing could've been better as it wasn't synchronised in some scenes, her acting debut is great. However the film could've improved in terms of its flow. Humayoun Saeed is playing a terrorist from across the border but speaks fluent Urdu with no accent - which makes it unrealistic.

Senior Army actors could work on their acting skills, I would like to ask anyone within the Armed force, when troops are on the battlefield are senior guys behind the computer screens keeping tabs and reports, calm? There was no Authority, distress, edginess expressed, voicetone was too relaxed. The scenes didn't blend and went too forward on to the next part.

On the contrast, the visual was great, sceneries and the jokes used were funny. There is one Air pilot and he super cute and his acting is what carries the movie! It gives a glimpse of how some troops don't have room for a female in their lives, and even if they do - what needs to be said..sadly doesn't. Though its felt and exists. How some leave their homes to serve their Country, live, breathe and sleep Pakistan. Their Honour and Pride is Pakistan. Belonging to the institute is prestigious and honourable. It's part of their identity and them. That the boys of Pak Fauj are happily in line of duty and willingly put themselves first for sacrifice, protect each other and have each others back. Picked up a few Army terms also. The team work is great and their is a deep unity of brotherhood imbedded.

It's not your average Bollywood movie, it's very realistic and close to reality. There's a sense of gratification, appreciation and pride.

The most beautiful aspect I genuinely appreciated was how towards the end it was dedicated to the soldiers who are martyred and the living.

Yalghaar wasn't perfect - but it's sincere.
