Health relation takes two to tango. Why cant Bangladesh compensate for 10000 acres?

The same reason why India cannot give any land currently under its own possession from any part of the country.

The only reason India is giving land is because that land already falls under the Bangladeshi territory, just that India is owner of that land. An owner without access and without a means to provide facilities to the people living in those enclaves.

But people of India will not allow India to give away some other part of its territory right? Same reason that Bangladeshi people would not allow BD to give away some part of land to India.

it is not new agreement, this deal has been made in 1974 according to 1965 boundary. So whatever BJP is saying totally nonsense.

It does not matter whether the deal was made in 1884 or 1774.
At the moment, the Congress is running a thin and fickle majority in the Parliament.
Unless BJP supports them, any bill is unlikely to pass.

i also believe.........government must move forward..........i live in Bangladesh.....so i am little familiar with geography ..........i believe land and area wise justice was nod done......sundar ban......half of Chittagong is hill track.....so what ever they deserve they must get it..........should not be more politics on this issue

although in PDF you will see ,always Bangladeshi showing hatred feeling for Indian......but that is not completely true........in reality most of Bangladeshi like Indian.....i am saying this ,because i lived there more than 4 year......

I agree with you. There are some master piece. Im telling this from my personal experience.
My mother is a pro indian. I cant easily make her agreed that we are Bangladeshi.
We should use BD products BD channels. She fantacize that India is her actual country.
Dont misunderstand that we are Hindu. They came here from Murshidabad after the divide
in 47. I also talked like her from many respected places.

this is the age of Globalization, why make your mind mean like "be Indian, buy Indian". Just buy the quality stuff of any country [except unfriendly country] and enjoy/

well,I think there is a minor mistake in your comment.Actually,any country can..example..3 bigha Corridor..India actually were going to gave up sovereignty over 3 bigha corridor,but they didn't(later,leased to BD) while Bangladesh really did handover its South Berubari to India in 1974..so,they can...India is going to loose a huge amount of land,and thats not in mountainous region or in desert,but in states like WB and Assam(I think),where land is already scarce..hope we'll be compensated in other means...

it can be done with a simple majority.special majority thats more than 2/3rd is not required.so it will be passed in loksabha.but i doubt govt can pass it in rajyasabha..it has to satisfy its partners.lets hope for the best

Hmmm.. Doesn't Constitutional Amendment require a special Majority??

2) An amendment of this Constitution may be initiated only by the introduction of a Bill for the purpose in either House of Parliament, and when the Bill is passed in each House by a majority of the total membership of that House and by a majority of not less than two-thirds of the members of that House present and voting, it shall be presented to the President who shall give his assent to the Bill and thereupon the Constitution shall stand amended in accordance with the terms of the Bill:

So if the BJP does not abstain... the bill falls.

Net loss to India will be 10000 acres. BJP will not support and the amendment cannot be passed. BD should compensate by giving equal land.

These kind of issues should not be politicised either by Congress or BJP...If BJP creates a issue then it is their problem...a nation and its commitment should be treated with more sincerity than what Mamata or BJP is feels about it.....If there is any problem happens then it is the responsibility of Congress that they should have discussed with all the parties before giving a commitment to other nation....

article 2 says about admitting other states in to the indian union is not a constitutional amendment and so it requires only a simple majority .surrendering our part to other country is also deemed to take place under this provision.if this matter is referred to supreme court for an advice by the president under article 143 and if the supereme court feels that the bolded part must also be included in the article 2 then the constitutional amendment is necessary until then its not

No it is not like India is donating some land to appease BD...We have to come out of that mindset...And anyway...I feel most of the people and politics of India do have any negative emotion towards BD....If this is Pakistan then it might have been a different issue...

10000 acres is nothing... many lives will improve. I support it, I sincerely hope BJP does not oppose and mamta does not act like dic*.
BTW how many bangladeshis here would have supported the deal if they were net losers of land. I can say zero.
