Specialist Merseyside marine supplier International Safety Products (ISP) is to supply 180 assault troop lifejackets to the Pakistan navy.
The jackets have a low profile and compact design for use in amphibious operations.
John Rogers, managing director of Bootle-based ISP, said the firm is witnessing rapid expansion in the defence sector.
It follows other recent deals with the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the Royal Netherlands Navy.
Mr Rogers said there are also strong indications of repeat business with the Pakistan navy in the coming months.
“This is another terrific contract win for ISP,” he said.
“These assault troop lifejackets will be manufactured in our Bootle factory before being exported to Asia.
“ISP is one of the largest manufacturers of lifejackets in the world.
“This particular heavy duty lifejacket is designed to support combat personnel and up to 40kg of equipment.
“They are easily discarded and integrate with paratrooper harnesses.
“The assault troop lifejackets are further designed for use in all geographical areas, including extreme and adverse conditions.”
The Asian deal comes within months of ISP securing another agreement with the MoD to continue servicing Intrepid Once Only Survival Suits.
ISP has supplied more than 30,000 suits to the MoD since striking up the relationship in 2004.
The products, also known as “abandonment suits”, help to maximise the chance of survival for military personnel escaping stricken vessels.
