That's not just silly, it's stupid -- These releases are coordinated with "other parties"(Afghanistan and US) -- though it's certainly the case that some will go to their old stomping grounds - however, this should be seem in the context of how the Afghan authorities themselves deal with the Talib.

After all these are Afghans and what is so abnormal about them going to their homes in Afghanistan? But getting back to the point about how Afghan authorities deal with these individuals, informed forum members realize that Afghan authorities are not irreconcilable with these, especially on the local level - it is the uniquely networked nature of Afghan society that enables this.
