BNS Shadhinota(F111) corvette Details

A new corvette ordered by the Bangladesh Navy was launched on November 30th at the China Shipbuilding & Offshore International Company (CSOC)'s Wuchang Shipyard in Wuhan, China. CSOC is part of the part of the State Shipbuilding Corporation, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC). The corvette nammed Shadhinota (meaning "Independent") with hull number F111 is based on the Chinese Navy Type 056 Corvette (Jiangdao class).

The "Independent" is one of two vessels ordered from China by Bangladesh.

According to a Chinese MOD statement: This will become the Bangladeshi navy's most advanced warship, and be a real boost to its coastal defence capability. 25 knots sailing speed, anti-radar design, highly adaptable to weather and oceanic conditions, and decked out with powerful weapons. The frigate "Independent" is made to be an all-rounder.

"We believe this ship has very good cost performance. It can serve to protect the sovereignty and interests of a country out at sea. It can patrol, escort, protect fishing boats and conduct law enforcement," said Yang Zhigang, president of China Shipbuilding Industry Co..

"We made a new ship form. It's cross-section looks like a deep Vee. Compared to the traditional round bilge hull form, it improves the performance of the ship when there are waves, guaranteeing high sailing speed in unfavorable oceanic condition," said Sun Lianfei, chief designer of China Shipbuilding Industry Co..

Shadhinota retains most of the sensor and weapon systems found on board Chinese Navy Type 056 corvettes:
» 4x C-803 (export version of YJ-83) Anti-ship missiles (2 launchers with 2 missiles each)
» 1x FL-3000N (export version of AJK-10 / HQ-10) Surface to air missile launcher (8x missiles)
» 1x H/PJ-26 76mm main gun (similar to Russian AK-176)
» 2x H/PJ-17 30mm dual mode (auto/manual) remote controlled naval turret

The Bangladesh Navy corvette however will be fitted with one Type 730 CIWS and two Type 3200 ASW rocket launchers will replace the two triple torpedo launchers

I think it is impossible, as BNS Shadhinota does not have sonar, so ASW rocket launcher is useless.
Moreover, Type 3200 ASW rocket launcher has 6 barrels of 252 mm rocket, it may be too big for type 056. The ASW version of type 056 has a much smaller version of multi-role rocket launcher. I have circled it as following picture.

No, it does not have a door in the stern for VDS. I think BNS Shadhinota may do not play the role of anti-submarine mission. The bow sonar and torpedoes on basic type 056 is for self-defense only, have or not have is not very important.

Yea it will speedy weapons but probably unguided depth charge at more far from the platform. a torpedo option along with this could be more deadly .so far a great vessel btw why its designation ''F'' as a corvette it could be other like ''C-111'' F should be reserve for frigate and D for Destroyer .

i think i have gotten the type, Type056 platform also has command and control varient. BD has plan to have C&C varient, probably it is that varient.

command and control varient

C&C variant did not appear yet，and I think BD navy may not use type 056 as commander ship because:
1. BD navy has much larger platform for that role;
2. BD navy does not have many type 056s to be C&Ced as PLAN
3. C&C variant should be more expensive due to more expensive electronics than basic version of type 056, but as I know, BD type 056 is more or less the same price as our basic version of type 056
Moreover, though BNS Shadhinota use F designation, but followed by three numbers as your other patrol ships, which may indicate that it has different role from the other frigates.
