RAWALPINDI: As many three people were killed and at least 14 others were injured in a blast near an Imam bargah in Gracy Lines, Rawalpindi on Tuesday evening, Express News reported.

Express News correspondent Imran Asghar said that according to CCPO Rawalpindi Akhtar Umar Lalika, the blast was caused by a suicide bomber. He approached the Imambargah Isna Ishra on foot, just as a congregation was underway.

The bomber was stopped at the first police check post for a physical search where he blew himself up.

Asghar added that the first cordon, manned by police officials and supervised by the area SHO himself, was located 30 feet from the Imam bargah. There is at least one other check post where visitors are physically searched before being allowed to enter the building.

Sub-inspector Amanat Ali of the Airport Police Station was among those killed, while SHO Rab Nawaz among three police officials were injured.

14 of the critically injured have been transferred to the Benazir Bhutto hospital for treatment. Three dead bodies were also brought to the hospital.

Rescue teams have reached the area and are shifting the dead and injured to hospitals.

Police and other security agencies have cordoned off the area and are collecting evidence. The bomb disposal squad has also reached the site and is collecting evidence.

The blast damaged at least two cars and almost a dozen motorcycles.

The Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen condemned the blast.

Gracy Line is located in a very sensitive part of Rawalpindi, situated between military residential buildings, the Benazir airport and Chaklala air base.

Note: This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.

My home is just 5-6 kilometres away from the blast site and i was in my room at the time of the blast. It was so loud and the windows of the whole house were vibrating.
Its said that blast side is near garrison. Any idea ?

Sucks to be in pakistan
It happens in India too. We should feel for the shaeed soldiers.

The most shocking aspect is the religious brain washing that the Mullahs are capable of in ingraining Muslim youths into blowing themselves up among civilians.

The level of ignorance and the level of beastiality is astounding - and that is the real danger.

By a conservative count, there may be thousands of terrorists, probably hundreds of thousands (another brainwashed lot who believe in killing others and themselves) in the Afg Pak region - a few thousands of them suicide bombers and that is the real danger.

where is this greesy god damn line ?
Sir jee, Gracey Lines is where FWO HQ is, near Army Officers Residential colony and Nur Khan Airbase.

RIP to the deceased, tragic incident. That road has two check posts that are manned by Police and Special branch, also 3 major airforce buildings there... Someone has some explaining to do in the morning.

This will also effect public transport routes like Chungi .22 and 21 stops outside gracey lines. Making life even more difficult for the average Pakistani.
