19 dead, over 80 injured in Karachi blast

At least nineteen people have been killed and many others are reportedly injured in an explosion taken place near the PIDC building on Club Road in Karachi. Initial reports suggest that the explosion targeted the DIG CID’s office in the area.

President condemns Karachi blast

GUANGZHOU, Nov 11 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned the blast at the CID centre in Karachi Thursday and vowed that the government would not be deterred by such acts of violence and continue the war against terror.

In a message the President said the acts of terror further strengthen resolve of the government to continue its fight against terrorism and extremism till its complete elimination.He also directed the provincial authorities to provide best possible medical care to the injured.

The President prayed to Allah Almighty to shower his blessings on those who lost their lives in this cowardly act.

Prime Minister condemns Karachi blast

ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has strongly condemned the bomb explosion at the CID Centre in Karachi on Thursday. The Prime Minister expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives and injuries to many others.

He ordered the concerned authorities for holding an immediate inquiry into the incident and provide best medical facilities to the injured.

The Prime Minister prayed to Allah Almighty to shower his blessings upon those who lost their lives in the dastardly act.

US is always after AFGHAN taliban in NWZ. They never ever drone attacked any TTP guy in Swat or SWZ..except Baitullah Mehsud who was an agent gone rouge. Maaa kiiii dummm in bc ki.

It was Pak army that destroyed the TTP in swat and NWZ and US was shocked by the success. Their agents destroyed at hands of PA.


TTP belongs to US supported by RAW to malign Talibans in Pakistan and force PA to take action against them in NWZ. The real Talibans have always condemned TTP and attacks on Pak soil.

Powerful explosion rocks Karachi, 19 martyred

KARACHI: A powerful blast occurred near Sindh Chief Minister House. At least 19 people including police personnel have been martyred while more than 130 others injured Thursday evening.

Emergency has been imposed in city’s hospitals.

Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area.

Several buildings in the area were damaged.

The blast took place in front of Sindh CM House, inside the office of Crime Investigation Department (CID).

SAMAA’s reporters on the scene saw dozens of motorcycles and vehicles destroyed and windowpanes of buildings were shattered up to 2 kilometers away.

Police said nature of blast was yet not known.

Sources said that terrorists entered the CID building and attempted to release their seven aides who were arrested last day.

Police officials told SAMAA that blasts took place when a truck hit the CID buildings.

The administration of Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) has appealed people to donate blood for the victims of blast.

Several people lying under the debris of the destroyed buildings and houses near CID office.

Police officials confirmed that terrorists attempted to release detained terrorist Iqbal Bajori. It is not confirmed yet that either Bajori managed to escape or includes among the injured.

TPO Saddar said that about 1000 kilogram explosives were used in the blast.

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has directed the authorities to present blasts report immediately.

Ahmed Chinoi, CPLC head, told SAMAA that Karachi is on the target of the terrorists. “It is the most powerful blast in the history of Karachi. A powerful explosion in the red zone area indicates security lapse,” he added.

Sindh IG Babar Khattak told SAMAA that the CID office was attacked by the terrorists from two sides before the explosion.

“Firing between the terrorists and security men continued for about five minutes.”

He said there was no high profile activity taking place in the CID office.
