The officer never commanded him to drop the gun.
he said (its a I say, you say situation) he yell out the command drop it, or put it down, the CCTV recording show evidence of the word "down" has been said, so yes, he have commanded either Crawford to get down or put down the weapon. This is on the benefit of the doubt, as if the officer only say down like the CCTV caught, he either was ordinging Crawford to go down or drop the rifle down, he did not complied to either.
Exactly what the officer said we will never know, we are not there, but judging from the CCTV footage, he said something to the effect of down, and he did not do either. That's the probably the only thing we know for sure.
