At least 18 people travelling to Iran were killed when unknown assailants opened fire on them in Turbat, Balochistan, Express News reported on Friday.
The travellers were taken off the bus they were travelling in and then shot at by gunmen.
According to reports, the people were travelling to Iran to find employment. Around 20 people were on the bus, out of which 18 were killed and there has been no report about the remaining two, said a Levies official.
Police and Balochistan Levies have reached the site, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack as yet.
The route is often used by pilgrims travelling to Iran from Pakistan for religious purposes.
Earlier this month, 14 Hazara Shias were killed after gunmen opened fire on a bus carrying 50 passengers from Taftan to Iran. The Lashkar-e-Jhangvi had claimed for the attack.
This is the fourth time since last year that pilgrims to Iran have been killed.
According to a report, ethnic and sectarian violence has claimed more than 400 lives in more than 200 incidents in the past four years in Balochistan.
