BLA guns down Baloch Journalist

KHUZDAR: A former president of Khuzdar Press Club and a senior journalist belonging to a news agency was gunned down by unidentified persons on Sunday afternoon in Khuzdar district.

Some unknown attackers opened indiscriminate fire on Mohammad Khan Sasoli, a former president of Khuzdar Press Club and a correspondent of Independent News of Pakistan (INP) and Daily Aaj Kal, near Faisal Hotel in Khuzdar District on Sunday afternoon when he was driving along with his family. He died on the spot when his rammed into a shop as he failed to control it due to bullet injuries. Two persons were injured in the incident.

Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani has condemned the target killing of Faiz Mohammad Sasoli and ordered the health department in Khuzdar district to provide necessary medical treatment to the injured people of the incident.

No group has accepted responsibility for the murder even though it appeared to be a case of target killing. Previously, another journalist working with Daily Azadi, Haji Wasi Ahmed, had also been killed in Khuzdar. Faiz is the third journalist from Pakistan’s restive southwestern Balochistan province to be killed during the ongoing armed conflict.

Dr. Chishti Mujahid, a journalist working with Weekly Akhbar-e-Jahan, had also been killed in Quetta two years ago for which the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) had accepted responsibility.

According to locals Faiz had been receiving threats from certain quarters in the past and he had been targeted twice but he had survived the attacks .

A text message issued by “Freelance News”, a network that caters to SMS news of Baloch nationalist groups, termed Faiz Sasoli as a ring leader of Baloch Defense Armed Group (BDAG), which has been operating against Baloch Students Organisation (BSO-Azad) and Balochistan National Party-Mengal.

They targeting even local educated people ( i am saying this not on the basis of reports but from direct sources). Their aim is clear. The more the local youth get aware of the reality of BLA the more they hate them, so BLA indulge in all kinds of such target killings and discrimination.

There are cases where BLA kidnap local youth and blame it on the government.

The journalists who do not heed to BLA propaganda are being targeted by this Indian funded terrorist organisation

I am sure you have no clue about the state of education in Balochistan or the BLA.

When teachers are shot in incidents of target killings, then yes, education is being hit. How many teachjers would want to go to a school, where two of their colleagues have been shot ? It creates an atmosphere of insecurity..as far as journalists are conjcerned, they target people who are oppose their school of thought and create awareness among the people about their hidden agenda !

BLA is being funded by india and these killings are for the sake of creating panic amongst the people of Balauchistan and creating hate against the Government. What?

Buddy do you know what the BLA has done to the local population, do you know that due to BLA's activities NGOs like CARE, CWS and a host of others that support education and women health have had to scale back their operations.

Just a few months ago JSI Paiman ( a USAID project for mothers, infants and newborns) had to discontinue services because of heightened security threats.

Mercy Crops, the biggest cluster NGO working on WATSAN has had to suspend operations in Baluchistan indefinitely due to these activities.

I wonder would you be so ignorant to the fact if this was Kashmir and the deceased was an Indian journalist?
