Yep! And he's given free business class travel, free medical treatment in top star hospitals, free luxurious stay in 5 star hotels anywhere in India etc etc. The govt of India spends crores on this bloody SOB.

Hopefully, denying him a passport is the first of many sticks the govt is going to beat him with including his yahoos of the Hurriyat. These buggers need to be shown their place.

.
Give him passport and when he is in other countries especially in Muslim country erase his passport details from database one problem solved

Admitting out loud that he is an Indian would be humiliating for s*um such as him. Any idea why we spend so much on these people, I have theories but it would be good different views.

MEA to take call on Geelani's passport, says union minister | Zee News

Jammu: Ministry of External Affairs will take a call on Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani's plea for passport for travel to Saudi Arabia on the basis of facts and figures, Minister of State in the PMO Jitendra Singh said here on Tuesday.

His comment came even as his party BJP, which is a part of the Jammu and Kashmir government, Geelani should not be given passport till he admits to being Inidan and "apologises" for anti-national activities.

"There is mechanism in place. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) will take a call on the basis of whatever the facts. Government of India (GoI) and MEA will take a call depending on all the facts and figures," Singh told reporters.

He was replying to questions about Geelani's reported application for passport for travel to Saudi Arabia to meet his ailing daughter.

"MEA will take into cognizance the issue and decide on it. I am sure that MEA will take a call on it. I am not in a position to deliver a verdict over it," the minister added.

However, the Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP said Geelani should first acknowledge that he is an Indian and "apologise" for his anti-national activities if he wants an Indian passport.

"Passport cannot be given to Geelani till he apologises for the mistakes he has committed during the past 25 years. Passports are issued to Indian citizens and not the ones who don't believe in India and its democracy. If Geelani sahib wants the passport, then has to fall in the line and follow law of the land," BJP spokesman Khalid Jehangir was quoted as saying by the media reports.

On BJP seeking apology from Geelani, Singh, a senior leader of the party from the state, said "it is separate issue. I am talking as far as giving or not giving permission. There is mechanism in place for that. I do not want to get involved in that debate."

PDP to approach Centre for passport to Geelani
Srinagar, May 20, 2015, (PTI)

Ignoring ally BJP's objections, PDP today said it will ask the Centre to grant passport to separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani on "humanitarian" grounds even as NC leader Omar Abdullah questioned why it was being made an issue when he has been given passport earlier also.

"This issue has to be dealt with from humanitarian point of view and we will pursue the matter with the Union Home Ministry," PDP president Mehbooba Mufti told PTI.
Hardline Hurriyat faction leader Geelani has applied for a passport to visit his ailing daughter in Saudi Arabia. Several mainstream leaders have called for issuing passport to the separatist leader.

Reacting to the PDP president's statement on the issue, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah wondered if it was "fixed match" between the ruling allies in which Mehbooba was trying to appear as a "crusader".

"What's the big deal? Geelani declined to avail a passport in 2011 so why is Mehbooba suddenly trying to appear as some sort of crusader," Omar said on Twitter.

BJP, the coalition partner of PDP in the state government, has said Geelani must apologise for his "anti-national activities" and acknowledge that he is an Indian if he wants an Indian passport.

Omar questioned BJP's objections on the passport issue. "I completely fail to understand why BJP would object to Geelani calling himself an Indian unless this is a PDP-BJP fixed match," he wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Apparently referring to the requirement of declaring nationality as Indian in the application form, the former chief minister said, "If he could get a passport in 2011, there is no reason he can't get one in 2015. He's happy to travel on an Indian passport & citizenship."

The PDP president today said Geelani was issued passport in 2007, 2008 and 2011.
"We will tell (Union) Home Ministry that Geelani must be given passport along with his wife and son so that he could visit his ailing daughter in Saudi Arabia. His daughter must not be deprived of seeing her father," Mehbooba said.

She said other separatist leaders including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabir Shah and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq already have passports and they have been visiting foreign countries from time to time, including Pakistan.

CPI(M) state secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has also called for issuing the passport to Geelani.

Decision on Geelani's passport after considering security issues: Kiren Rijiju | Zee News

Last Updated: Wednesday, May 20, 2015 - 20:07

New Delh: A decision on granting passport to Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani will be taken considering various issues, including national security, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said on Wednesday.

"The Home Ministry has not yet received anything regarding his (Geelani) application for passport. When we will receive it, we will take a decision taking into account various issue like national security," he told reporters here.

Rijiju was replying to a question on the issue of granting passport to the hardline Hurriyat faction leader who has applied for the travel document to visit his ailing daughter in Saudi Arabia.

Jammu and Kashmir's ruling coalition partners PDP and BJP were sharply divided today over the Geelani passport issue with the regonal party saying it would approach the Centre for granting the travel document on "humanitarian" grounds.

Official sources said Geelani and his family members want to travel to Jeddah and had applied for passports online.

But he has not yet visited the regional passport office in Srinagar to give his biometric data and clicking the photograph. As per the new rules, an application must visit the passport office in person to give biometric details and click the photograph.

Sources said after Geelani visits the passport office to complete the formalities, his application will be sent to the Ministries of Home and External Affairs for their comments as he falls in prior security clearance category for issuing a passport.

The Ministries, then, in consultation with the Jammu and Kashmir government, would take a final decision on granting the passport to him.

Geelani was issued passport in 2007, 2008 and 2011 with a validity of one year in each time.
