I don't think Lakhvi factor could have been foreseen. But I can assure you the political power that Karuna and Marans had was immensely more powerful than RS Prasad has ever had. They're from a family of dozens of people who held power locally and nationally for close to 50 years. If they can be screwed, RS Prasad will fall far quicker if this things blows.

@Guynextdoor2 , Please stick this on the forehead of Yogendra Yadav

Reliance Industries the Indian conglomerate owned by billionaire Mukesh Ambani, paid undisclosed monthly legal consultancy retainers to Manish Tewari, a senior politician, prior to his being appointed broadcasting minister in India’s previous Congress-led government, documents seen by the Financial Times show.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, a senior figure in prime minister Narendra Modi’s Bharitya Janata party, also invoiced a Reliance affiliate company for monthly legal retainers before he became the country’s telecoms minister, separate documents reveal.

Neither Reliance nor the two politicians publicly disclosed the monthly payments, which in most cases were worth more than $100,000 a year.

Accepting paid retainers from companies is not forbidden by India’s parliamentary rules, and commercial arrangements do not always have to be disclosed. There is no suggestion that any party broke Indian laws.

Both politicians are lawyers by profession, and it is relatively common for parliamentarians with legal backgrounds to continue legal practice, including appearing in court for corporate clients. All parties deny wrongdoing.

Oh niiiiiceeeee, then why did BJP create a ruckus when Shashi Tharoor took a retainer from IPL, hell he was not even the sports minister then. He lost his ministership because of that, how come BJP is asking for a different yardstick now? Anyway, let's see what RS Prasad's official refutation is. If you're thinking that top BJP ministers are not corrupt, you really are living in some alien land.

Unsurprising. Maybe the reason why he lost his job because of it didn't occur to you too.

Please enlighten me on this. Was Shashi professionally associated with IPL, like RPS association with Reliance? Or was it purely personal through Sunanda Pushkar ?

Yes, he was an advisor/ consultant, taking a retainer for Cochin. Sunanda Pushkar was a shareholder I believe. When Lalit Modi (himself a corrupt @$$hole) began tweeting against him, the retainer shareholding etc. came out and he was promptly booted out.
