firstly, thanks for pointing out this already-running thread.

whenever i have heard subramanian swamy, my ears pain from the obscenity of his reasoning and the arrogance of his speech... he is the star mad-man among the many in the national government.

it is clear from his words that he seeks to all leftist and progressive elements from jnu and bring to authority positions groups like abvp and individuals who champion yogic agriculture.

if i called him "gutter chaap", how am i wrong??

Now JNU students protest along with FTII students, & Subramaniam Swamy would play ludo with Gajendra Chouhan.

maybe this is for the good.

the leftists and progressives in india have long been disunited so these government right-wing tactics may well serve to unite the progressives and the left.

Though I differ with Subramanium Swamy in almost all of his views, but that guy surely got some academic credentials speaking for him.

as always i say, if phd's and double degrees and thirty years in "the industry" was what it took for people to be called educated, india with its hundreds of millions of such types would have by now have had human settlements on mars and the asteroids.

It is learnt that the human resources development ministry has offered the post to BJP leader Subramanian Swamy. It is understood that Dr Swamy has put some conditions before accepting the post. It is learnt HRD minister Smriti Irani has spokesn directly to Dr Swamy about the offer. But there is no official communication from the ministry so far on the issue.

You might want to check stats before ranting, India has one of the lowest PhDs per 10,000 compared to scientifically developed nation in the likes of Israel, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, or Austria. You will be astonished to see how many substantial startup was conceptualized and realized while doing PhD studies, I can cite Baidu as one, was started Robin Li while doing his PhD at the University at Buffalo.

Another biotech firm I worked for, Nanobiotix was started by a professor and his PhD students while working on their research on cancer treatment, with valuations over 300 million Euro with only 40 odd employees. India needs more PhDs at this point of time to compete with other global peers in research and development.
