Bizarre! Indian Railways' electric locomotive goes missing

.
Are you retarded or something? The facts about Pakistan's non existent railway Industry was added, because you started comparisons.

When you go angry, you know you are out of substance. And its laughable that you read and still read not.
For your "retarded" comment above, you are reported.

@anant_s well since you are the resident expert here may be you could throw some light as to how a loco might disappear. .
Can't just vanish!
The locomotives are equipped with GPS and cannot just vanish in thin air. the locomotive, probably is at Tughlakabad Loco shed itself and the way report is written (asking all 60000 drivers to go on loco search etc) it seems someone in media, has taken half correct information a bit too far.
in any case, the thread looks a great trolling exercise.

@gslv mk3 Welcome back brother!!

What if it derailed after going on a Railway siding; especially given the flooded plains
and Nallahs

I have seen abandoned coaches which have derailed

Not possible.
I know working of locomotives and can therefore tell you following:
whenever a locomotive is energized (electrical) or cranked (diesel), it must be manned always. it amounts to offense or negligence of duty, if the staff even gets down of locomotive with no person inside loco cab (even if they stand besides that loco). So no abandoning the loco ever, when it is on power.
Second, there can be situations when loco is either de-railed or the staff has to leave the locomotive. In this case, the locomotive is completely tripped off along with accessories and then chain lock the loco with tracks, after application of brakes.

My firm belief is that locomotive is at ELS TKD and the news has been blown out of proportion by some novice reporter.

In all probability , it seems that the Loco has been sent for its maintenance, elsewhere. And the TKD staff would have informed the media that they don't have the loco.

We have had cases of loco from one shed getting overhauled elsewhere , especially in cases of WAM4, G5, P4, G7 which are found pan India.

Those coaches aren't abandoned .
They are mostly emergency rescue vans , rakes shunted , parcel vans , pantry cars, inspection vans, maintenance vans , extra reserve rolling stock etc.

I have seen three derailed second class coaches which were lying in the mud near a siding
they were lying since many days as if abandoned

No surprise , if not needed they will be there for years , doesn't mean abandoned.Might have been shunted in a wrong manner , or might be absence of any free loco there meant they would lie there , untill they are needed. Sometimes when they are meant to be sent to a overhaul they are attached to a train going to the destination close to overhaul location, might be this case , or might be a train had earlier derailed there and these rakes were found unsuitable at that moment to be taken to the right place , so simply shunted / kept there.

But let me guess , you were travelling in Northern Railways territory ?
