There are two points of why Balochistan matters in the international scenario in the past and currently/in the future.
1. In the past, Balochistan was forcibly annexed by Pakistan (at gunpoint the guest alleges) since Balochistan was considered by the British inherited colonialists in the form of the Pakistani establishment as an Islamic vassal state which would provide Pakistan to further their own interests. However, the forceful accession was not acceptable to people like Abdul Karim Khan who started the insurgency movement, and continued suppression of human rights, democratic aspirations and an imposition of an Islamic constitution furthered the insurgency through Khair Baksh Marri, Mir Balach Marri and Akbar Bugti.
2. The current and future trends alleged by the guest speaks of the New Great Game played by China and Pakistan on one hand and US and allies on the other, in which Balochistan's vast energy reserves wants to be tapped by China and Pakistan is falling head over heels in complying to the same. The common Balochis are stuck and grind between the two and they feel helpless and want out in this game.
