Biker gang campaigning for peace in the country, descends on Sukkur
SUKKUR: Islamabad’s Bikers and Hikers Club have organised a motorcycle rally from Islamabad to Gwadar in order to protest the law and order situation in the country.
The 12 bikers, who are participating in the rally, belong to Islamabad and Lahore. They started their journey from Islamabad on February 13 and reached Sukkur on Monday, after passing through different cities of the Punjab. The bikers claimed that the purpose of their journey is to bring back peace in the country.
Talking to the media at Babarloi bypass, Bikers and Hikers Club Islamabad president Arshad Malik said that the people of Pakistan have become depressed due to the threat of terrorism and long for lasting peace. “During our journey, we have visited many dargahs and prayed for peace and prosperity in Pakistan,” said Malik. “We have met people from all walks of life who want to see a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan. The saints and Sufis of this country have always preached brotherhood, love and harmony and I am optimistic that peace will return soon to Pakistan.”
Malik revealed that they started their journey from Islamabad on February 13 and hope to return back to the capital city in 16 days. “Our next destination is Hyderabad, from there we will go to Karachi and then to Gwadar, after which we will head back.”
The bikers’ club members, who left for Hyderabad later in the evening, remained hopeful that peace will prevail in the country and the current situation is just a passing phase.
