A dalit woman has lodged an FIR against seven persons for harassing her and family members for protesting her husband's conversion to Islam at Rampur Khurd in Sitamarhi district, police said on Monday.

A probe was on in the matter and security had been provided to the aggrieved family, he said.
In addition to lodging an FIR with the Pupri police station, the woman had told police that she was away to her maternal home two weeks ago when she heard about her husband's conversion to Islam and returned to confront her husband about problems arising in the family post his conversion to another religion.
Ram had asked her and other family members to convert too, but she refused and asked him to live separately.
She demanded financial support to her family from her husband even after his conversion which he not only declined, but brought the ex-mukhia and others to intimidate her, a police officer at Pupri police station said.

. . . .
So it has become a domestic issue now-

If the wife doesn't convert than her husband has to divorce her- technically he cannot be with a non Abrahamic partner-

Bhartiya nari.

I have seen worse marriages surviving-
you see if you say Bharti Nari then sooner or later she will give in to her husband demands- like its typical-

Hindu nari if you propose- it may be a different thing-

Most times is the men who give in to women's demand. In arranged marriages, when the marriage was set up by family members, no one will support the man if he goes and converts to another religion.

It is more likely that he will give in to the demands made by her and the community.

Since Bharat is 85% hindu, Bharatiya nari sounds good.
