For all those advocating NOT killing these Maoists, remember they wont think twice before killing a villager branding him as a Police informer or killing our soldiers.

Also remember what happened in Orissa recently ? A District collector was Kidnapped and many Maoists were released as ransom. Does this not make a mockery of the sacrifice made in capturing them in the first place ?.

Arrest them, gather what you want to gather from them and silently finish them in an 'encounter'.

Well I would rather kill foreign terrorists who bomb and kill in the name of religion than kill ppl who kill because they are being suppressed severely. i suggest you travel to remote villages in Andra, Bengal, and Bihar and see first hand how life is. I agree violence is not the solution but you must remember they too that path due to an ineffective and corrupt police force and politicians who did not care.

In an insurgency there will be unfortunately collateral damage and we cannot let down the tempo due to that. It means they have won. And no the Maoists of today are not the Naxalites of Naxalbari who started with a ideal. These are just power-drunken terrorists who indulge in illegal mining and killing innocent villagers that they have vowed to protect.

Yes I agree with you there as well. Corruption is slowly but effectively diminishing although it still remains one of the biggest problems in India. We need a government that has a backbone. Even though BJP is corrupt like any other party in India, they wouldn't sell the country like these Congress goons.

Honestly, both parties suck. BJP had very corrupt officials who lined their pockets while putting the defense of our country in great jeopardy. The reality is party politics is dead in India we need to choose individuals based on merit and capability. AK Anthony, MMS, Modi together can make India a force to reckon with.

Moaists are our people but are mislead... we need to bring them in right path and solve their problem if we can in a peaceful way....

I agree....we should clearly differentiate between naxalism and terrorism...Naxalism is a conceptual war based on the fight between have and have not's.
This struggle is going on for centuries and naxalism is just another form used by the exploited people.In case of naxalism dies then this fight will prop up in another form and in another name. Naxalism is not against any religion or any challenge to the nationhood. And also we have to remember that its our political forces who have created this situation. In it an underlined fact that naxals are facilitated in some form or the other by the powerful ministers and political forces of our establishments. Hence rather than taking any unlawful steps,let us find out the truth and find out the main leaders who are brain behind this struggle. Indian Gov should listen to the people who are political faces of Naxalism.....

Again...i am not a supporter of naxalism concept but i beleive Indian are matured enough to listen to the different thoughts of people as long as it does not challenge the nationhood.

India is not some banana republic where every Tom, Dick & Harry can pick up gun and negotiate with the Govt on the basis of terror and violence. I am not going to deny that villagers and tribals in the rural heartlands of India have some genuine grievances against the government, but violence is not a solution to that.

If Maoists truly care about the people, they should stand in elections. If they have the support that they claim to have, they will face no problem is getting themselves elected. This is the fastest, easiest and safest way to bring the fruits of development to the people that they claim to represent.

But the problem is that Maoists do not believe in democracy. Instead they all firmly believe in the “Revolution through the barrel of the gun” theory which will bring nothing but death and destruction.

The Govt should give the Maoists an ultimatum- join the main stream or perish otherwise there is a danger that the Maoists will become another FARC.

The solution for the above is Social Justice. Maoists can fight all they want with the Indian Govt, but they are never going to bring social justice to the downtrodden. They can give a sense of security to the villagers and tribals but they can never offer them Social Justice as it can implemented only through and within the legal framework of the country.

For example the state of Kerala turned from being called a " Mental Asylum" by none other than Swami Vivekananda to a state having social indicators even comparable with some European Countries. I believe that the main force behind that change was the Communists. They came to power through elections and once in power they implemented laws like Land Reform Bill which caused sweeping changes in the socio-economic structure of the state.

Maoists can emulate the Kerala Communist's example. This will be a win-win a situate for everyone (except the Zamindars may be).
