How do u guys claim to have 50% of teesta waters.........our north bengal would just dry up if so much water is diverted to bangladesh...............as for haldia....why should we relocate the port........it is now well established with quite a few major companies working in the region.......relocating the port would mean lots of money........why should we spend that kind of money for relocating a major port just for giving bangladeshis extra water.........what would we get for that......nothing, except a major port relocation costing us huge sum of money.....

Bangladesh claims water because the river goes through our territory as well. The amount of water claimed is merely a technical thing and calculated based on convention and need.

Few point to note here. First you should not divert one rivers water to another but you can use the water for your irrigation and driniking. But you diverted water from Ganga then again from Tista to keep your Haldia port alive which is nonsense when millions of people are suffering from both side of the border. YOu better close your port and let Orissa to handle those cargoes. They have very good ports and more than enough to handle needs of the region.
