Bihar, Caste Divisions & India in 21st Century

Ok, no more BJP/Congress/Nitish/Lalu Please......

Just as a common citizen of India, who believed that in 21st century the caste divisions doesn't exists!

But when a big & Important state like Bihar votes absolutely on Caste lines is a worrying part for India who wants to compete with China.

Would like your views (irrespective of partyline) on this important subject. What can be done, is education the solution?

P.S. Please I repeat, this thread is not about BJP or Nitish or Lalu or Congress. I just want to know what we did wrong in 68 years of Independence that people still blindly believe on CASTE system!

we forgot to educate people and impart them wisdom and this stands true especially for a state like bihar..

The biggest reason behind casteism not going away totally from mindset is because no political party is ready to let this happen. for them the vote politics is more important then social cohesion in the country

Indeed! I can't stand the thought that my kids would be born to be lower than others in social status, and would be labelled as some sort of subhuman for the rest of their life! Horrifying!

On since that idiot was questioning that it wasn't about CASTE, then how can one explain that people gave more seats to Lalu than Nitish when both were fighting on EQUAL no. of seats. Definitely it's about CASTE over Development (if Nitish was seen as sushashan babu in Bihar)

Lets be honest , some members do stoop low. and if you actually want a discussion without party lines then that's not going to happen . most of the members here lack the maturity to objectively discuss an issue without bringing their political leanings into it.

Education will merely empower the low castes but to achieve tangible results our constitution must abolish the use of caste.
