Knowledge might have been lost in Time . Just like we have lost many things from the Past .
So what you are saying is humans moved from another galaxy to this one but didn't have the technology to safeguard the knowledge bank from earth's conditions? How is that logical ?

There's an episode of Babylon 5 that is exactly like this lol.
Some religious monk like character far in the future from now is figuring out the "internal combustion engine" all over again....because humanity has basically destroyed itself pretty much.
In the end we see its a total archive of human history made by a super evolved human waaaay in the future (we are energy beings).
A very fascinating TV show.
