the Martian Movie isn't that great!

Agreed, it underwhelmed me for the most part. Still worth a watch though. I found certain parts of it quite interesting.

Better than Gravity, but much below interstellar.

2001 space odyssey is still my all time favourite

Gravity on mars surface is 1/3rd that of earth...I don't think they shown that in the movie!!

Thats a relatively minor quibble for me....since one would imagine with enough time a human would "adapt" his movement/energy expenditure to be very similar to what the body likes/used to on earth (i.e fundamental biomechanics).

It would be interesting to test this I think however. There is probably a limit to it as well (like I doubt we could ever walk properly on the moon no matter the time given to adapt).

Exactly...they didn't show that in the movie...it felt unnatural to me..

Don't know about this theory but unless we spread across a bunch of solar systems we cannot survive ! For that we should be able to fully control our Sun !

We can't fly on the moon which has much less gravity than mars

Not enough difference between Earth and the other major celestial bodies....like there was between Krypton and Earth.

He will defy their gravity!
