Details of Biden-Zelensky call revealed

9 Dec, 2021 21:10 / Updated 38 minutes ago

In a call with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, US President Joe Biden reportedly discussed his recent talks with Russia’s Vladimir Putin, the Donbass crisis, NATO membership for Ukraine, and internal reforms in Kiev.
“I just finished a 1.5 hour-long talk with [Biden],” Zelensky tweeted on Thursday night, adding that the US leader “acquainted me with the content of his talks with Vladimir Putin” and that they discussed “possible formats for resolving the conflict in Donbass” and “the course of internal reforms in Ukraine.”
Biden and Putin spoke for over two hours on Tuesday, with Ukraine as the main topic of discussion, though the two leaders touched on other issues as well.

During the call itself, Zelensky’s chief of staff told reporters that Biden had promised Ukraine military assistance against “external aggression” and said that for Washington, Ukraine’s membership in NATO was a decision purely for its people and the alliance.

Moscow has said that any NATO offer of membership for Kiev would be a “red line” for Russia.

US media reported earlier in the day that Biden could advise Zelensky to provide wider autonomy to the two regions in the eastern Donbass region, which had declared independence after a 2014 coup in Kiev but have not been recognized by anyone, including Russia. Ukraine promised such autonomy in the Minsk Agreement mediated by France and Germany, but has yet to follow through.

As the call was ongoing, however, White House press secretary Jen Psaki called “absolutely false” reports that Biden was pressuring Zelensky to “surrender territory to Russia.”

Meanwhile, the Kerch Strait was reportedly closed to civilian traffic as the Russian coast guard was monitoring a Ukrainian naval vessel that approached within 18 nautical miles. The ship eventually changed course, but continued to ignore Russian warnings.

The strait separates the mainland from Crimea, which seceded from Ukraine and voted to rejoin Russia in 2014. Kiev and Washington have refused to recognize the reabsorption, and maintain that Russia “invaded” and “occupied” Ukrainian territory.

Would love to see Americans getting stuck in a conflict for Ukraine..
They are half broke , people are divided and they are pressing democracy in entire world..Nan

Ukraine is Russia's sphere of influence just like Europe is to US.

When Soviet Union dismembered, there was agreement USA and NATO will not interfere in areas of Russia's influence. They did exactly the opposite. Now if Russia retaliates, and I hope it does with full force, it has every right to do so.

There is no set pre-defined of my sphere or yours. The West is there to collect as they have been doing

irrelevant. the gang of thugs known as nato have proven themselves to be aggressors and Russia reserves the right to respond to any form of their expansion. if a gang of drug dealers in my neighborhood keeps trying to jump the neighborhood kids in then OF COURSE the kids' parents will respond to them out of the neighborhood.

Russia and China should coordinate and pull the strings from east and west .

There simply won't be any WW III, because US has the power to tighten Russian screws. What is referred to as the "death star sanctions". Such sanctions will deeply hurt the Russian elite in their inner most cavities, and basically destroy their economy. It will be a very high price to pay for russia to stop the NATO expansion on its borders.
Let's see who comes out on top, the little tyrant of Moscow, or the senile POTUS in DC.

Do you believe Usa/Nato and allies (India, Japan, S Korea, Australia could also harm China if the same extreme sanctions are imposed on she. Usa/Nato and allies could mostly trade with each other and invest in allies state, isolating China and Russia. Will it destroy their economy and so making the weak.

Economy in ppp:
China/Russia 30 Trillion
EU/Usa/India,Japan,S Korea, Australia 60+ Trillion

as long as UK stands tall and strong Russia will never dare to make a move

and by all accounts UK has done a brilliant job deploying its assets

those scared to death Germans should be ashamed

and France is nowhere to be seen

Italy also hosted the Russian business delegation last week

next week UK will be kicking some rear ends in Europe to get them together

US is doing alot but not openly covertly

UK has balls to open new front and even announce it

Please show us all that "agreement" because it is sounding very much like vaporware.
