President Biden on Friday submitted his 2022 defense budget to Congress, which included additional investments in systems intended to help the U.S. out-compete China.

The White House noted in its budget that maintaining and rebuilding alliances was critical to confronting the "growing ambitions" of China. It plans to invest $5.1 billion in the Pacific Deterrence Initiative, which is intended it help counter China in the region.

Biden has asked for $27.7 billion for nuclear modernization, including $2.6 billion for a ground-based strategic deterrent missile and $609 million for long-range stand-off weaponry.

It also calls for $20.4 billion for missile defeat and defense.

The administration is seeking $112 billion for research and development, and has pointed to artificial intelligence, 5G, micro technologies and hypersonic missiles as areas of interest, as noted by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

"We are investing in the right mix of capabilities that I think will continue to give us the advantage over China," Austin said on Thursday, noting that the U.S. military needed to be able to understand, decide and act faster.

Hundreds of Thousands of Americans don't have health care and other benefits, and yet this Govt who is supposed to be a freaking progressive one is looking to give the military budget a boost, and what will the Military do with all that budget? Invade dirt-poor helpless countries in the name of Freedom/Democracy/Oil? I lost all respect for US Govt since they not just allowed but actively supported the bombing of innocent children of Gaza under the guise of "ASSreal right of self-defense".

hypersonic missiles can take out an entire surface fleet until S-500 class ADS are developed and deployed by China that can defend from hypersonic missiles. Even then some are going to get by, look at the rockets that got by the Iron Dome with swarms.

So to have a successful and working navy. China has to ramp up production of subs. That can do nearly everything that the surface fleet can do while remaining safe from missiles.

Isreal probably has air defense where missiles can be fried electronically and lose GPS and internal guidance. usa has this too. So the strategy of many many dumb rockets is a good choice. Even intercontinental ballistic rockets with no electronics, armed with nukes. Not very accurate, though if you launch 50K of them, they are going to hit cities. And even hit "white rural centers" when missing the cities. Aim them at northern usa, to avoid hitting Mexico and if you hit Canada who spread lies about a fake genocide, China won't mind. China probably has less rockets and missiles than Hezbollah. When China should have a 100 fold more of high tech and no tech rockets and missiles. And that is only mentioning missiles and rockets. China has much to build up to deter a war.

China is barely trying to get per capita weapons compared to other nations, which is promising. China and Russia are close with number of military aircraft (2k vs 4k), when China is 10 times larger in population than Russia. So when China has 20k military aircraft, thousands of J-20s, etc. Then China is getting at being prepared for a conflict. And that is only getting at Russian Air Force numbers per capita. To really try, you need a war time economy production to get 50k or more aircraft.

What ever causes your enemy to lose their minds, focus on. An arm from the space station that can be used to grab us sats. usa lost their minds in going crazy over outrage of Chinese technology. So also focus on making ASATs, not hundreds or thousands, make the usa so insane, make millions of orbiting ASATs. And that is a low number. Do you think there is going to be a second chance at defeating the usa. That there is going to be a Second USA-China War. Once China loses the first, if China survives nuclear annihilation, then China get occupied and China is like South Korea or Japan. With trumps great grand son as the POS in the white house telling how China needs to pay for us troops occupying China. Even though China is looted and poor, for centuries, after the 2025 War with the usa. China only has ONE SHOT at this. Better to be so overly prepared that even without war, usa sues for peace.

And spending 50 billion USD on R&Ding EW, ECM a year is at the center of any military budget.
