Bhutan should be more worried about a takeover by India: Bhutanese expert

.
We have a trade deficit of almost 50 billion dollar per annum with China , we welcome such action and get rid of Cinese crap

Actually Chinese give you best value for your money.

There are too many versions of same product depends on money. If you buy Rs100 item you cannot expect it to last the one with Rs1000 tag.

Call it crap of whatever Chinese products even have flooded US markets and people are buying

Wangcha Sangey's palms must have been greased by the Chinese.

In 1949 Bhutan and India signed the Treaty of Friendship, calling for peace between the two nations and non-interference in each other's internal affairs. Bhutan agreed to let India "guide" its foreign policy and both nations would consult each other closely on foreign and defence affairs. If we really wanted to take over Bhutan we would have done long ago. In fact looking back,India made a mistake by not annexing Bhutan in 1949.

If India was ( hypothetically ) to ' take ' over Bhutan , why would it wait for China to do anything ?

Do you seriously think in today's day & age one nation can take over another against its will ? Both nations being members of the U.N. & sharing an internationally recognized IB ?

You need some excuse for some kind of take over militarily or politically.

And forget about the take over small countries like Bhutan should think over more options for own safety instead of relying on one bully

It is amazing how many countries in South Asia are struggling to be free of India but are welcoming of China ...

So you managed to portray a personal opinion of Wangcha Sangay as the voice of Bhutan?

You know the difference between personal capacity and official right? And btw have you ever visited his blogspots? The comments out there will baffle you as to how neutral and nationalist his opinions are while giving his due respect to India?

What's your research? And since when public opinion had become THE major factor in national stand in international tradecraft?

And before accusing India here have you gone through indo Bhutanese treaty?

People are just manipulating what he said and he didn't say anything against India his personal views are welcome to keep Bhutan first and we need not read too much into his posts. He is just a blogger.

I agree but there another facet and that is we cant pay for our own distruction even if it is affordable ....... We have paid for our our destruction once to Britishers and if we repeat it again then we havent learned anything from history...
Our Industry can survive without Chinese ...... but if they they stop dumping it will hurt them more ....

You only point to the opinion of one man but you will millions of similar opinions about India all over South Asia ... Forming public opinion is part of international tradecraft or Indians would spend so much on propaganda. Any treaty with India is one of subservience.

.
We managed to piss of India even when we were not relying on China :) Bhutan has a long way to become a nuclear power BTW
Pak's reliance on China started in 1963. I know because the beginning of the association is marked by the event of Pak ceding part of J&K to China. That was way back.

.
if India takes over bhutan India's chicken neck problem will be solved. Its one of the reasons India has such iron grip over bhutan. Bhutan is geographically and in national security terms indispensable for India. I doubt india would ever let go of Bhutan.

You will also find millions of voices for India.
Second, forming public opinion is only helpful to an extent for pressure tactics, thats why I said its not THE major factor (you seem to have not read my sentence carefully), however its not the ONLY factor when you deal with political matters.

And why do you think a treaty between two nations doesnt have any value so much so that the Chinese want to break that treaty?

The day India realised and the day China actually unleashed strict action against India from military point of view then indeed India will not waste a day to take control of Bhutan by landing massive forces.

Bhutan indeed needs to take all aspects into account before taking sides

Seeing what happened to Tibetians and Uiygurs you expect Bhutanese to trust China
