Well currently 99% person are non income tax payer to be honest. First you are mixing haram and halal. Tax system is based on Human made and not from ALLAH.

In Hazrat Umar Farooq R.A, these were the taxes imposed

Following were the main sources of revenue

(i) Jizya (Indemnity or Defence Tax);
(ii) Zakat(Poor Tax);
(iii) Khiraj(Land Tax);
(iv) 'Ushr (Special land Tax);
(v) Booty(Income from the conquered places)
(vi) Tax on non-Muslim merchants or traders (because they did pay Zakat).


You can't ask people to pay tax and tax and tax and don't do anything regarding

Unjust tax should not be appreciated at all. At current situation, Direct Tax is on one hand, Indirect Tax on other hand and Pakistan is on 3rd number in giving charities and Pay Zakat Al Hum Dulillah we all Muslim do or majority does yet we are poor country. So there is something really wrong with the country system which should be corrected first in order to gain the trust of the public.

How much money has been brought back from corrupt? Remember Imran khan told in his speech that in 10 years loans went from 6 Arab to 30 arab rupees and who took these loan? then he went on telling us shabaz has this money, nawaz has this zardari has this.

Bring those money back? Why burdening poor people more and more and not doing the main part from his side?


This increasing of tax will bring riot in the country against him and his voter will turn him down.

Bai even if you get a written notice, all you have to do is file a return written response and keep a received copy with you. Kuch nai hota aur na he yeh kuch kar saktay hain. If he rejects your written response and proceeds with an amended assessment order, file an appeal with CIRA, if CIRA passes an adverse order, file an appeal with Tribunal ......... and if you can read write you won't need a lawyer on all these fora. Log khamkha in say itna dartay hain ........

All of that happened. No one has time to keep corresponding with them. So the person in question simply hired a lawyer, never happened again.

And when you pay your taxes you can genuinely demand government to further decrease Gst.

You really have no knowledge about taxes. Pakistanis are already paying indirect taxes and then if anyone is non filer they have to pay extra every time. You can't withdraw more than 50,000 otherwise tax is there for nonfiler. You have different rates for non filer when registration of car. You have different rates for non filer when you buy property etc etc.

And use your sense if 99% don't pay tax and only 1% paying tax country will run? Are Pakistani are super rich ppl on the earth that only 1% is running the country and paying taxes. Please read about filer and non filer taxes then come here.

My mother is doing a Govt Job, so her tax is automatically deducted, and is also shown on her pay slip. But she is not issued an NTN number and is not classified as a filer

I think this whole terminology is wrong, instead of "filer" people who pay direct taxes should be called "direct tax payers" or simply "tax payers" as they are called in the rest of the world. Filing for taxes or reimbursement is a secondary thing for someone whose tax is already deducted from his/her salary. This whole terminology of "filer" and "non-filer" is very misleading and confusing for salaried class tax payers.

I meant single accountant catering for small businesses.

Established forms cater for medium size up businesses whereas this should open doors for single qualified accountants to do the filing.

Currently there's no requirement by FBR that only certain (qualified) agents can file returns so single accountants should start offering these services.

It does happen actually, individuals do provide these services, but not the qualified Chartered Accountants. I know individuals who file tax returns for CNG stations, retail shops and few other small businesses etc. You are right this can happen on large scale as well.

let me explain you Islamic model.In Islam minimum zakat rate is defined and anyone who not pay this amount is severely punished but at the same time Islam not limits the voluntarily payment to state by rich people and public and one can even pay all his wealth to govt voluntarily for betterment of country that is why Islam has placed high importance on integrity of leaders who are in government so people trust them and pay them high amounts voluntarily when govt need money like Hazrat AbuBakar Sidique R.A presented His whole wealth in front of Holy Prophet(P.B.U.H) and Hazrat Umer R.A voluntarily gave His Half Wealth in the path of ALLAH ALMIGHTY .
So instead of forcing people to pay taxes govt should promote voluntarily contribution of wealth for nation but for this govt has to show public that they are honest and will spend this amount for betterment of public
Similarly for defense people should be asked to make voluntarily contribution for procurement of weapons
In Islam govt is not allowed to privatize minerals and other profit earning source as well as natural resources and govt must have control over such resources to earn revenue for running country

Nope I'm a pakistani and a resident one to boot (majority of forum members are not resident pakistanis). The downing of that indian jet was due to decisions made decades ago to spend on defence over health and education. That allowed us to acquire better aircraft than India. However it also retarded our economic growth. Now the situation is so grave that even at our current level of exorbitant defence spending we can't keep up with india because india's economy has grown so much more than ours. By calling our bluff they've heightened the paranoia level in Pakistan so we will keep destroying our future by spending excessively on imported weapons at the expense of things that actually lead to economic growth i.e. human development spending.

We will keep begging foreign countries for money. IK has done nothing but beg since he came to power. He went on begging trips to foreign powers. He begged overseas Pakistanis to contribute to dam fund and to invest in Pakistan. He begged the IMF for a bailout. He's now begging resident Pakistanis to pay taxes! Our PM is a professional beggar!

dollar and rupees represent generally accepted medium of transaction and one of the method of payment but are not compulsory medium of transaction as many more cashless medium of transaction are available nowadays which can be used alternative to bank notes

Govt can set price of its services to citizens higher to generate profits and it is their right just like any other seller but taxes on private businesses and individuals is not enforceable in Islam except for defense expenditure as every Muslim is required to participate in Jihad and it is obligation just like namaz and other rituals and those who not participate personally but have wealth should contribute their wealth for defense budget in order to participate in Jihad
