On December 15, three new serial Groza R-934UM2 HF and VHF electronic warfare stations were handed over by the chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian army Oleg Belokonev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus Igor Demidenko.

The R-934UM2 Groza is a jamming stations is part of electronic warfare system developed by “KB Radar”.

The R-934UM2 Groza is a similar to the R-934UM and R-378AM, but it enables higher speed of detecting emission sources, higher direction-finding accuracy, digital jamming signal generation, positioning and jamming of radio lines with programmed operational frequency readjustment or simultaneously 16 radio lines operating at fixed frequencies.

The new jamming stations designed for search, detection and jamming of VHF/UHF fixed-frequency and frequency-hopping radio communication links.

Composition

  • detector/direction-finder with receiving and direction-finding antenna-feeder system;
  • two automated operator workstations;
  • nine-channel radio transmitter with seven transmitting antenna-feeder systems;
  • communication and data transmission system;
  • power supply and life support system;
  • transporter truck with two power generators and shelter.
Functionally, new station share a number of common features with foreign systems and overmatch them on a number of characteristics.

According to Chief of the Radio Warfare Office of the General Staff of the Belarusian army Igor Danilchik, the new stations boast better capabilities in comparison with the old jamming stations.

The new stations are made using only Belarusian hardware and software. It took five years to start producing them in serial.
