What's new

Be Pakistani, buy Pakistani

The Tax is never collected , bribes are rampant and it just does not works

Also the foreign players have 100km head start and the race only lasts for 105 km , the Pakistani companies are only at 1 km mark when race finishes

What will force Pakistani consumers to Buy locally ? When foreign material is not present in markets they will automatically shift to buying internally produced goods (Supply and Demand)

KARACHI: When it comes to our daily life, consumer products play an essential role. We use various types of products to satisfy our needs and wants. These products are one among the many that keep the economic activity in a country running. Pakistan’s economy remained in a not-so-positive condition throughout the year, and earned a negative ranking among the global economies. Recently, President Dr Arif Alvi raised a point of supporting our country by buying locally-produced products rather than buying the foreign ones, in order to support our own economy. The president should also consider this fact that the products manufactured in Pakistan are often of substandard quality. This is one reason for consumers preferring foreign products to local ones. Supporting our country is great, but the government should also do more to ensure a set standard for products manufactured here.

German buy Chinese, why? Because Chinese products are cheap. But when it comes to quality, they buy German, why? Because its the best. I think I have made my point clear.
Bheek mat mango, kch kerky dikhao.

.
I bought a German VW 5,000 USD used , with 132 km , mileage it was suppose to run another 300,000 km and the thing blew up it's transmission in 2 weeks

Every car can last a life time , if you just maintain it every 3-4 months with care

The stuff Japanese are selling in Pakistan is total tin can / garbage
It is low quality / sub standard and dangerous on road material

People do not realize it locally as they do not have a proper local alternative to compare the quality against

.
First make small business easy encourage people to farm and produce more goods WE NEED LOCAL CHEESE,TEA e.t.c then we need to work on R& D on mega proportions. Make imported items expensive and make alternative pakistani items cheaper.

.
The Local , production /Consumption drive can only be success with a focused Government Policy making which provides support for Local Manufacturers with Loans for Machinery for setting up factories and protection against massive imports from outside

Thats Not entirely True.

The quality of any product consumed is largely dependant on government Regulations and not on the origin of manufacturer.

Pakistan is a Market addicted to consumerism and Honestly dedicated to consumerism. It simply needs Management with foresight for the incoming recession.

If you look at the history of successful countries, all have 1 thing in common....1 -2 generations sacrificed something for the nation!

In terms of Korean, Japanese and Chinese, they took less wage and bought their own good...promoting it on world level! They realized if they dont respect, buy and encourage their own goods no one will give them the respect!

1-2 generations later it became natural to buy their own goods! Our goods suck, our marketing is cheap and poor while our drive to innovate and have a local market is nonexistent

Why should the son carry his fathers blame?

Unless provided with a contingency Plan No one is willing to take the leap of Faith when UTurn political ideology is rife.

Why should the son carry his fathers blame?
Son shouldnt but should carry his own responsibility! If you see rubbish on the street dont start throwing rubbish too...If you are not more advanced than your parents in terms of loving your nation in a way to improve it, then I am sorry you will inherit your father's "blame"

Unless provided with a contingency Plan No one is willing to take the leap of Faith when UTurn political ideology is rife.
You can either cry and blame someone in this case govt or question what you can do for the nation!

Business needs Stability not uturns.
Business needs idea first! I havent seen many!

If you tax the imports, how does it have a lower price than local products?

Welcome to Pakistan.

To start with all exports are heavily subsidized by their respective govts.
Than all low quality items are available at scrap cost.
Still our importers get all imported shipments under invoiced.
Finally at customs, their's a network who can clear your consignment at small fee.
Now you are cheaper than locally produce.
This system of corruption made records during Zardari rule.

This is where laws need to be set and implemented....Curb this first!

Why hasnt anyone done anything about it but just cry exports are killing the nation why are people blind to this basics?

Should Not the political Dynasties be given priority then in this regards or its just Fun blaming the common man?
You can either cry and blame someone in this case govt or question what you can do for the nation!
I chose to live as a law abiding citizen and did not take part in the loot.

Sitting on the modern silk route you seriously need ideas?

It may sound surprising to most Pakistanis, but Pakistan did have own semiconductor industry, and a single fab in eighties. That's nothing to sneeze at in times when the total amount of players in the "semiconductor club" was amounting to just 18 or 19 countries.

The fab was a backend line (not a real complete fab, but close to it) in Lahore. And there was an ELMAC plant project ran by Zia, but all these ambitions came to an end when he kicked the bucket.

In 79-80 the
regime of President Zia encouraged a Pakistani in the US to return
to Pakistan and set up a wafer fab plant, since the infrastructure for
such an industry did not exist it was planned that an existing plant set
up by Philips under the name ELMAC would be modernised for this purpose.
At that time ELMAC was not operational (aftermath of the Islamic Bomb
controversy), Philips had come under a lot of pressure for supporting
clandestine development of hi-tech against the COCOM and GATT treaties
in Pakistan and they had scuttled their operations after an aggravated
labour strike. Prior to shut down ELMAC was manufacturing diodes and
transistors and was also in a position to package IC's. It may be
mentioned here that it was because of ELMAC that the government had levied
custom duties of 80 to 100 % on electronic components.

In 1980 MET and MEI became operational with the intention to set up a
Wafer Fab plant, several US companies including the first few ASIC
companies were participants in this venture. Unfortunately at that
very stage the US embassy in Islamabad was attacked by angry crowds and
the US government ordered stoppage of equipment ($ 40 M worth) to
Islamabad.

The participating US companies were discouraged and the project
was in jeopardy. Ironically, within a few months the same companies started
construction of a wafer fab plant in China (Shenzhen.)

In part, Shenzhen's initial success came out of that bizarre coincidence.

Both should be blamed!

When has the common man taken up his responsibilities to the nation? So far all he has done is complain, blame and loot!

I chose to live as a law abiding citizen and did not take part in the loot.
What have you contributed to the nation?

Sitting on the modern silk route you seriously need ideas?
Yes, when there is an idea then we can talk about pushing it to yield! When there is none, then you keep relying on other people and importing!
