We can all make a difference. I'd like to use this thread to post links where we could donate to organizations to help Japan- even if it's is 1 dollar...

I just gave to red cross earlier and specified it for japan (you can do that). every country on these boards has a red cross or if you like to wait we will have links to non proft aid institutions- that specifically have money go to Japan. If you can't donate, ask your local red cross if they would like to organize a blood drive. Believe it or not -blood is the most important commodity in tragedies like this...

if you know of a link that is already up specifically for Japan, please post it here. even if it is local.

good stuff

i wish i was in japan to help out, but sadly im not and cant be

i will definitely donate some money, even though i have very little right now

im in better position then a lot of japanese

.
I can donate some money but i cant give my blood i recently donated it to red cross cant help in that area for another 3 months

We want to be a citizen of the world, but the Japanese doesn't. I'll donate to Japan if they promise to relax immigration laws, give more opportunities for foreign workers to work there, make it easier for foreigners to rent and buy apartments in Japan, and stop discriminating against foreigners with racist policies.

Any humanitarian disaster of such magnitude certainly deserves our donations.

We should leave politics out of it.

Most people know exactly where to donate money and/or blood.

No need to beat your chest about it on an internet mesage board.

a link ? we can add on the OP perhaps... other than Red Cross i can't find any aid organizations that set itself up for Japn yet.

the japanese and asian student association at my university set up a booth on campus asking for donations. i handed them 25$. i don't think they know how to get the money over yet but i'm guessing it's though the red cross.

It's a good initiative and if you can't see anything beyond his flags then you're pathetic

Spare me the sanctimony; I don't give a rat's as$ about anyone's flags.

I am simply saying people should donate quietly instead of bragging about it on a forum.

It's legitimate to post links of places where you can donate. It's gauche to tell people how much you donated.

Did he state how much he donated? He simply took the initiative. And mind you it was pretty succesful coz I donated only AFTER reading this. So yeah..
