BD’s economic growth hits record 8.15pc in FY19, PCI reaches $1909 overtaking India’s PCI $1785

patriotic party emphasizing our Islamic heritage should emerge,
Patriotic sure. Islamic, not really a good idea. Religion and state shouldn’t be mixed. Specially in the modern world

:o:What are you talking about man? We sit back and relax while our women do everything???? Or is it just trolling?
I mean that’s what has been going on since the 90s
When we got stupid excuse of beta men in ministerial role saying our relationship with India is of husband and wife, what else do you expect me to say?

but I also meant good intentions. Garments industries has been basically riding on growth pushed by mass employment of women

Have you heard of karma? That boy was killed cause of gundami of his own family members. Read history how mujib's sons torture rape bank loot from 1972 to 1975.

Propaganda of the Socialists. BNP's ancestors fell for it. By starting that killing spree, the so called Muktis in Armed forces just slaughtered each other. By doing so, did they work for themselves or for the big neighbor. And the socialists going berserk needed to be neutralized. Its not Mujib behind famine and all. Its the socialists, on behalf of India. Giving birth to a country by not preparing enough had this unwanted consequences. Was it necessary to take part in a war by the BNP's Armed forces commanders without knowing way out and pushing country on India's lap. Again on Socialist instigation. As Mujib was re aligning BD with Pakistan and Muslim world, ending socialist threat and coming out of Indian influence, those misled officers had to kill him. They must didnt find enough Mukti in him. How stupid some people can be to make consecutive mistakes. This is BNP. Xi is made lifetime president of a bigger country, is it too bad. Im proud to have family ties with Rakhi Bahini officers, who were essential to clean socialists; whom are also suspected to put an end to Zia regime under Major Monjur of Comilla. The law and order established. Was Zia any less monarch and not responsible for widespread killing of Armed forces officers. My motto is simple in life, keep kilometer distance from Muktijuddher chetona. There must be scam in it. And BD people protesting in streets. Their switch isnt in BD, but in Delhi.

Pakistan's total public debt is much more than Bangladesh, around 70% of its GDP. $95 billion (Actually $106 billion) is only external/foreign debt.

Total External Debt Of Pakistan (Billion US $)-----------$106 billions

Total Public External Debt of Pakistan(Billion US $)-------------$73.7 billions---78.6% of GDP (Sep 2019)[

Not that I concerns me in any way, but it seems clear that this is artificial growth. No new long term jobs are being created, taxation remains low with no real effort to grow it, and ex/im is also down. There is a lot of construction going on, but it seems to be more vanity projects (like NS' era in Pakistan), than anything substantial. The numbers down add up, as the growth mainly seems to be mainly linked to foreign investment, and construction. We've seem similar issues in other countries, like Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

I fully expect BD's economy to take a major hit in a few years time. The next global recession is gonna hit BD extremely hard.

Educated folks rather not live in bd and kids nowadays rather do yaba. :/
Situation is changing about not staying in Bangladesh. However yaba is a big problem. So I wholeheartedly support the murder of drug dealers buy RAB.

Sometimes we need to clean the garbage of society in unconventional way. It's necessary to ensure the safety of the society!

Sir G, congratulations and evident at least in UAE market to which, I am witness.
Clothes/food stuff are usual items. I myself bought clothes, and consume litchi juice/mustard oil/cake rusks. I personally feel the stuff is of good quality and on par with international packaging standard - may ALLAH SWT bless BD for more successes for their hard work.
Further, I also subscribed some BD youtube channels for biofloc fish farming and pouty forming integrated with fish ponds - lots of things to learn - the methods applied seems to be with low investment based upon local resources and high income. I am learning them and will apply in Pakistan - In-Shaa-Allah.

Now it is time for a beta-only industry for growth - like shipbuilding.

Govt. should seriously reduce duty on inputs for shipbuilding activity, like welding equipment and ship plates. Under back-to-back L/C facility of course.

This is what made the electronics and motorcycle manufacturing take off...

One needs to be in Bangladesh to see the complete picture brother, watching stats and trends from the interweb are misleading. @UKBengali bhai would you agree with him?

IMHO - India had artificial growth before things slowed down, where service economy grew without any real basis from industrialization. Bangladesh industrial activity is quite robust AFAIK in different sectors (newest are home appliances, small electrics, motorcycles, cellphones), unemployment is quite low (yet). Our industries are export oriented or import-substitution types (export/import numbers will not reflect a whole lot).

Everyone needs to keep in mind that lot of this growth came from infrastructure development. I am waiting to see the math how Padma bridge will contribute 1% to the GDP growth.

Why is there tax on shipbuilding at all. Industries that are going to boost economy shouldn’t be taxed at
